There was a delay to the start after MAJESTIC WHISPER made heavy contact with MENTALIST with driver L O'Reilly being dislodged from his sulky.
CROWN RANGE - reared and fell to the track briefly prior to the start. Stood on the mark and was slow to begin before pacing in the early stages losing all chance and being pulled up. Declared unruly for standing starts and stood down to complete a satisfactory trial from a stand.
SUMMARS - lay outwards in the home straight. Driver R Close was spoken to for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion.
MAKE MY SUNDON - broke at the start losing all chance.
LINE A LOVE - trotted roughly on the first bend. Driver J Patterson was spoken to for loose reining in the home straight.
BELLA BUTTON - broke shortly after the start losing some ground.
DUDES STAR - trotted roughly on the first bend then broke near the 2000 metres.
FAST WET N WINDEE - hampered at the start. Driver P Wakelin reported she dropped her whip near the 900 metres.
MENTALIST - driver L O'Reilly was dislodged from his sulky prior to the start when heavily contacted by MAJESTIC WHISPER. Mr O'Reilly was examined by St John personnel and stood down from taking this engagement due to injury. MENTALIST was declared a late scratching at 12.06pm due to Mr O'Reilly being indisposed.
MAJESTIC WHISPER - fractious prior to the start making heavy contact with and dislodging driver L O'Reilly (MENTALIST). Due to unsatisfactory manners prior to the start was stood down to complete a satisfactory trial. Broke after 200 metres losing all chance and was pulled up.
AMAZING TERROR - slow through the early stages. Weakened from the 600 metres. A warning was placed on the racing performance of the mare.

STELLA'S DELIGHT - over raced when being restrained near the 1400 metres. Driver L McCormick was spoken to for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion.
I MISS MUM - broke after 200 metres hampering trailing runners. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
KOWHAI MAGIC - briefly hampered by a breaking runner after 200 metres.
LE POLE DANCER - over-raced early stages. Driver P Davis was spoken to for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion.
DIXIE FLYER - a false start was declared when the girth safety strap came adrift on DIXIE FLYER in the score up. Trainer M Purdon admitted a breach of Rule 864(2)(d) in that he failed to affix the girth safety strap so as not to come adrift and the JCA imposed a fine of $200. Driver S O'Reilly was spoken to for using her whip with more than a wrist flicking motion.
BOUDICA - out of position at the start. Broke shortly after the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly.
SHEEZAGOLDENGIRL - paced roughly in the middle stages of the run home.

SAFE ZONE - held up early and middle stages of the run home
MAYHEM IN MALIBU - trainer D Mitchell was issued a warning after the gelding was presented without the notified blinds. Broke at the start losing some ground.
MONGOLIAN MARSHAL - when questioned regarding the performance the connections could offer no explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
LAST OF THE MOHICANS - raced greenly when leading passing the 800 metres.
CHANGEOVER JO - driver L O'Reilly was examined by St John personnel prior to taking his drive and cleared to fulfill his remaining driving engagements.
MIDNIGHT IN MEMPHIS - stood on the mark taking no part in the race and was retired from the event. Authorisation of placings was delayed after driver J Cox advised he wished to review the films as to whether he had been denied a fair start. A Request for a Ruling was lodged with the JCA and after viewing the replays and hearing evidence from Mr Cox and Stewards, the JCA declared MIDNIGHT IN MEMPHIS a runner. Stood down to complete a satisfactory trial from a stand.
MARK O'RONGA - fractious prior to the start and sent to the unruly position by the Starter where the gelding will remain for future standing starts. Slow to begin then hampered by a breaking runner. Broke briefly passing the 700 metres after hanging inwards when being shifted wider on the track by an inside runner.
PRESIDENT PAT - hung outwards through the middle stages. Driver N Burton was spoken to for using his whip free of the rein.

There was a delay to the start due to MADAME FROST requiring a gear adjustment.

Race 10   HANLEY FORMULA PACE
YOSSI - driver J Hay defended a breach of the Push Out Rule when it was alleged he shifted outwards near the 1600 metres forcing KRUIZR (J Curtin) to race wider on the track. After viewing the films and hearing evidence from both drivers and Stewards the JCA dismissed the charge.
JOHNNY EYRE - hampered by a breaking runner on the final bend.
KRYSTAL DELIGHT - broke rounding the final bend and contacted track markers.
MISS IMPRESSION - hampered by a breaking runner on the final bend.
MONGOLIAN CONQUEROR - lay in shortly after the start briefly making contact with MAD LU LI.
BUCKSKIN - when spoken to regarding the improved performance, driver S O'Reilly explained the gelding has had no luck in recent races and she was not surprised by today's result.
GEORGIE ZUKOV - tangled away.
CHILLER BAY - over-raced middle stages.
A TASTE OF HONEY - driver B Orange will be spoken to for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion.
MAD LU LI - fractious prior to the start. Briefly contacted by MONGOLIAN CONQUEROR after the start.
KRUIZR - forced wider on the track passing the 1600 metres. Driver J Curtin was warned for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion.

Race 11   ECOLAB MOBILE PACE
ZAMBIA - lay outwards throughout. Driver T Williams reported he had difficulty steering the gelding and would be recommending gear changes.
YANKEE SHARD - hung inwards in the score up and was out of position at the start. Broke near the 250 metres.
SPICY GIRL BECQUI - raced wide early stages.
WILL HE ROCK - raced wide early stages. Raced clear of the field from the 1200 metres before weakening leaving the final bend. Driver J Simpson was warned for his lack of judgement when failing to give the gelding sufficient respite when the opportunity existed through the middle stages. When assessing this matter Stewards were mindful of Mr Simpson's lack of race day experience.
