Co-trainer K Barclay advised Stewards on 18 November that STARS N BARS appears to have recovered well following its run at Winton on Sunday and will continue with its current preparation.

Race 1   WINTON WORKOUTS COMMITTEE TROT
AGENT Z - weakened rounding the final bend.
WHANGAMATA - broke at the start losing all chance.
BONNIES DELIGHT - broke passing the 1800 metres briefly hampering outside runner and losing all chance.
IT'S SUMMERTIME - trotted roughly over the concluding stages.
MAINLAND PAT - briefly hampered by a breaking runner near the 1800 metres. Weakened from the 700 metres. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormality. A warning was placed on the horses racing performance.
MONO GAMBLE - the Murphy blind was removed prior to the start due to the gelding warming up unfavourably.
DEM BONES DEM BONES - slow to begin. Placed on the Unruly for future standing start engagements at the request of trainer R Hanson.
DANANGUS FELLA - slow to begin. Trotted roughly on various occasions during the running. Cleared from the Unruly for future standing start engagements.
Co-Trainer J Douglas advised that IT'S SUMMERTIME was served on 25th December 2020.
Race 2   NEXT MEETING THURSDAY 10TH DECEMBER MOBILE PACE
A ROCKNROLL MAID - held up passing the 500 metres.
ART PROFILE - lay inwards rounding the final bend and throughout the home straight.
MICKEY FITZ - raced wide in the early stages.
FORTY WIVES - held up rounding the final bend.
GREENBACK BOOGIE - weakened from the 400 metres and lay outwards under pressure on the final bend. When questioned regarding the performance driver S Ottley advised she was disappointed however could offer no explanation. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormality. Stewards will follow up in the coming days with the connections.
JAFFIE J - raced three-wide without cover from the 1200 metres.
PRETTY AZZ - broke late in the score-up however settled shortly after the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Paced roughly near the 1000 metres.
OLD LUKE - held up rounding the final bend and for the majority of the home straight.
Race 3   UPPER CUTS BUTCHERY MOBILE PACE
THE KINGSMAN - driver R Swain reported he did not release the removable deafeners applied to the gelding due to having the field covered.
TARTAN RAIDER - hampered by a breaking runner near the 1600 metres. Driver N Williamson reported the gelding had paced roughly on various occasions during the running.
SKIDADDLE - out of position at the start. Paced roughly rounding the final bend.
DAME'S MAC - hampered by a breaking runner near the 1600 metres. Paced roughly on various occasions during the running.
GENERAL TITLE - shied at outside runners and shifted inwards abruptly passing the 1600 metres, striking the sulky of SKIDADDLE and breaking in consequence, hampering trailing runners and losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing manners of the gelding.
WHO'S MY MOTHER - over-raced in the early stages. Checked by a breaking runner near the 1600 metres.
SASSY'S VC - hampered by a breaking runner near the 1600 metres.
TOMMY WATERHOUSE - hampered by a breaking runner near the 1600 metres.
Driver K Barclay (BOO) was spoken to advisedly for using her whip free of the rein in the home straight.
Race 4   NZ BLOODSTOCK MOBILE PACE
ARCO - raced three-wide from the 1600 metres.
SZYBKA ETHAN - over-raced in the middle stages.
NOOSA BEACH - paced roughly then broke passing the 1300 metres losing some ground. Junior driver E Barron reported the gelding had shied rounding the bend.
IDEAL ROBYN - cleared from the Unruly for future mobile barrier engagements.
Race 5   A W KYLE BUILDER MOBILE PACE
DALLAS GRIMES - checked and broke when under pressure entering the home straight after having made contact with the sulky of SWIFT ROBYN which shifted down the track. When spoken to regarding the horses performance B Barclay advised he had adopted different tactics today and attempted to lead throughout after this runner had recently been disappointing the connections when racing with cover. He said that despite having some pressure applied to his lead in the middle stages he had again been disappointed with the horses efforts but could offer no explanation.
CLIFTON JESSIE - had to be steadied in the early stages when briefly placed in restricted room. Broke racing into the first bend. Stewards questioned driver A Milne regarding this where he explained that he had bumped sulkies with an inside runner resulting in his mare breaking.
TETRICK - driver B McLellan reported he did not release the removable deafeners applied to the gelding due to the cord becoming entangled.
LADY'S LASS - driver T Robertson will be spoken to regarding the manner in which he shifted inwards in the early stages when briefly crowding the racing room of CLIFTON JESSIE.
SWIFT ROBYN - shifted inwards on the final bend and contacted DALLAS GRIMES which broke. Stewards questioned drivers B Barclay and K Tomlinson regarding this. Mr Barclay advised his runner was giving ground sharply and had broken when hampered. Miss Tomlinson advised that her runner, which was also weakening had lay inwards abruptly despite her efforts and proved difficult to drive. Stewards also questioned Miss Tomlinson regarding the tactics she adopted in the middle stages where after improving her runner three wide to race parked, she opted to apply pressure to the leader for some distance instead of offering her mare some respite. Miss Tomlinson reported the mare had hung throughout causing her some difficulty and then over-raced after making an unsuccessful attempt for the front. She also reported that she had been instructed to race on the pace as the horse preferred that style of racing and the connections believed it to be capable of working and still winning the race but been disappointing despite sustaining a punctured tyre near the 450 metres. Miss Tomlinsons comments were noted.
KAGEE VC - forced wide on the track passing the 1100 metres.
INDULGENCE - when questioned regarding the improved performance trainer H Hunter advised that the mare had appreciated the drop in class today, the roomier track and the fast tempo that race was run in the early stages. Mr Hunter further added he was not surprised by the result given the way that INDULGENCE had raced in its previous two starts.
CHANGEAROUND - held up rounding the final bend. Hampered in the early stages of the run home having to be restrained by driver S Ottley costing the gelding some momentum.
MAN I'M GOOD - over-raced in the middle stages and then proved difficult for driver A Kyle when held up rounding the final bend resulting in the gelding making contact with the sulky wheel of SWIFT ROBYN.
Race 6   REGENT CAR COURT HANDICAP TROT
SVELT - broke at the start losing all chance.
SOUTH PARK - broke rounding the final bend.
THE PEAKY BLINDER - broke shortly after the start and continued for a considerable distance. Stewards lodged a Protest against Promoted 5th Placing being awarded alleging the gelding had breached the Breaking Horse Regulations when breaking in excess of 150 metres. Connections did not contest the Protest and after viewing replays THE PEAKY BLINDER was disqualified by the JCA. Broke passing the 800 metres.
DREAM OF PAT - broke after 150 metres losing some ground.
ALPINE RETREAT - broke briefly rounding the final bend.
DIPENDRA - weakened from the 700 metres.
ONLY ONE WAY - broke passing the 950 metres and continued for a considerable distance. Stewards lodged a Protest against 5th Placing being awarded alleging the gelding had breached the Breaking Horse Regulations when breaking in excess of 150 metres. Connections did not contest the Protest and after viewing replays ONLY ONE WAY was disqualified by the JCA.
SEKKIE MONKEY - broke passing the 200 metres. Stewards lodged a Protest against Promoted 5th placing being awarded alleging the gelding had breached the Breaking Horse Regulations when breaking in excess of 50 metres inside the final 200 metres. Connections did not contest the Protest and after viewing replays SEKKIE MONKEY was disqualified by the JCA.
Trainer N Williamson advised that SEKKIE MONKEY has had its hocks injected since last racing.
Race 7   WINTON'S TOP PUB MOBILE PACE
ARCHMAN - held up rounding the final bend.
ROBYNS SHADOW - when spoken to regarding the performance of his gelding driver C Ferguson could only advise that he had been disappointed with his efforts. Stewards will speak with the connections in the coming days.
HURRICANE BANNER - paced roughly in the early stages. Held up rounding the final bend.
MAKARA - out of position at the Candy Pole. Hung outwards through the early stages. Over-raced in the middle stages prior to improving forward to race in the parked position.
TARTAN ROXY - lay inwards and paced roughly in the home straight.
Co-trainer R Wilson advised Stewards on 25 November that ROBYNS SHADOW will be given a brief freshen up prior to resuming after its disappointing performance at Winton last week.
Race 8   AON INSURANCE MOBILE PACE
The start was delayed approximately two minutes due to the sulky of JODY DIREEN having to be replaced.
HAMPTON - held up rounding the final bend by a tiring runner.
ALLANDALE - over-raced on various occasions during the running.
DANGEROUS - held up rounding the final bend by a tiring runner.
MACH'S BACK - paced roughly rounding the final bend. When questioned regarding the performance driver B Barclay advised the gelding was having its first start back from a spell and would derive benefit from the run.
DEUS EX - driver M Williamson reported he did not release the removable deafeners applied to the gelding due to having the field covered.
Race 9   WINTON MITRE 10 MOBILE PACE
LUCYS DELIGHT - over-raced in the early stages. Lost some ground through the back straight on the final occasion.
MR CLOONEY - when questioned regarding the performance driver B Barclay only reported he had been disappointed but could offer no explanation.
FERRITTS SISTER - co-trainer G Knight reported the mare would be racing in season.
EL DORADO - out of position at the start. Attempted to shift outwards near the 1300 metres causing an outside runner to be steadied.
STAMP DUTY(AUS) - over-raced in the middle stages. Had to be briefly steadied near the 1300 metres.
TIGER MOTH - back from the unruly position at the start.
