Race 1   PEAK AT ALABAR TROT
MOUNTAIN MASS - broke at the start and shifted out hampering CYBER ATTACK before settling at the rear.
CYBER ATTACK - Trainer J Dickie was fined $50 for the late notification of the addition of half hopples. Hampered after the start and switched to a pace before breaking and losing considerable ground. Broke rounding the first bend and trailed the field throughout. Placed on the Unruly for future stands.
CONSTELLATION - was a clear leader early and middle stages. Driver J Stormont was spoken to advisedly for using his whip with more than a wrist only flicking action.
RUBY RIDGE - broke for several strides at the start. Broke near the 1900 metres losing ground before settling. Inconvenienced by a breaking runner near the 350 metres. Authorisation of this runner's 4th placing was withheld until it was confirmed that the mare had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation.
ANASTASIA ASHLEY - broke near the 550 metres after contacting the sulky wheel of MAJESTIC HANOVER and galloped a considerable distance losing its chance. Driver J Wallace admitted a charge under Rule 869(3)(b) on the grounds that he drove carelessly in this incident. The JCA imposed a fine of $200.
MAJESTIC HANOVER - lay out at various stages. Received a punctured tyre near the 550 metres when contacted by ANASTASIA ASHLEY. Shifted out under pressure in the run home. Driver P Ferguson reported that he did not activate the deafeners due to having the field covered.
HIGHLAND QUEEN - broke near the 1900 metres and trailed the field throughout.
JUST PLAIN LUCKY - slow early.
MANCHESTER'S ECLIPSE - broke shortly after the start. Broke again rounding the first turn losing its chance.
Race 2   VINCENT AT ALABAR MOBILE PACE
EASTANBULL - over-raced middle stages. Held up early final turn and then throughout the home straight when unable to secure clear running. Driver K Marshall reported that he did not activate the deafeners as a result.
DOUBLE UP - driver B Mangos was spoken to advisedly regarding using his whip free of the rein and with more than a wrist only flicking motion early in the run home.
ADIEU FLIRT - lay out early in the run home and was reluctant to shift down to attempt to utilise the passing lane. A Protest was lodged against this runner's 3rd placing on grounds of causing interference to SHES NO LADY (5th place) over the final stages of the run home when shifting down into the passing lane. After hearing the relative evidence and viewing the replays the JCA dismissed the Protest. Driver J Abernethy admitted a charge under Rule 869(7A)(c) in that he shifted his mare inwards in the run home and forced SHES NO LADY to race over track markers. The JCA imposed a fine of $250.
FERRITTS SISTER - inconvenienced and paced roughly for several strides passing 250 metres when to the outside of MARATHON MAN which was shifted wider on the track by DOUBLE UP.
DOC HOLLIDAY - raced three wide early before securing a position one out in midfield.
TEXAS TIGER - held up final turn and early stages of the run home.
SHES NO LADY - was shifted down onto the marker line near the 1650 metres by DOC HOLLIDAY. Tightened and then forced over track markers late in the run home.
Race 3   CAPTAIN CRUNCH AT NEVELE R STUD MOBILE PACE
THE PEACEMAKER - broke early in the score up and was back from position at dispatch. A warning was placed on the mare's mobile barrier manners. Broke near the 1750 metres after contacting the sulky of RICHMOND TIGER checking several trailing runners. Driver C Jamieson admitted a charge under Rule 869(3)(b) on the grounds that he drove carelessly in this incident. The JCA imposed a fine of $200. Checked and broke near the 750 metres when there was an easing of the pace and lost ground before settling. Weakened final stages.
ALTA MADEIRA - inconvenienced briefly near the 1700 metres when there was an easing of the pace.
MIA RAGAZZA - raced keenly approaching the 1700m and had to steadied resulting in an easing of the pace on the marker line. Had to be restrained off the back of BETTOR LISTEN near the 750 metres inconveniencing trailing runners.
SHEZADEAL - momentarily tightened and paced roughly for a stride entering the first turn. Raced three wide early. Hampered when having to take evasive action near the 1000 metres. Weakened final stages.
RAVEN BANNER - raced in restricted room to the inside of COLIN BROMAC near the 300 metres and contacted marker pegs.
BETTOR LISTEN - commenced to pace roughly when leading passing the 1500 metres. Broke near the 1050 metres hampering trailing runners but soon settled. Broke again passing the 200 metres. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners. Driver Scott Phelan was cautioned for the manner in which he shifted ground inwards entering the first turn which resulted in SHEZADEAL being momentarily tightened.
TAIPO - raced three wide early before being restrained to the rear. Improved three wide with cover from the 1400 metres.
RICHMOND TIGER -driver A Drake was spoken to advisedly for using his whip free of the rein shortly after the start. Sulky contacted near the 1750 metres. Inconvenienced near the 1700 metres and then again at the 750 metres when there was an easing of the pace.
FLEETING MAJOR - raced three without cover from the 1400 metres. Driver K Marshall was cautioned for contacting the sulky wheel of COLIN BROMAC near the 1100m when attempting to shift down to trail that runner. Hampered and forced wider passing the 1000 metres. Weakened final stages.
BONDI SHAKE - checked and broke near the 1750 metres losing several lengths before settling. Held up final turn and early stages of the run home.
COLIN BROMAC - sulky wheel contacted by FLEETING MAJOR passing the 1100 metres. Hampered when having to take evasive action near the 1000 metres and was caught three wide as a result. Lay in near the 300 metres placing RAVEN BANNER in restricted room.
Race 4   HAPPY BIRTHDAY TREVOR CASEY LONE STAR HANDICAP TROT
EMMA FROST - raced in restricted room rounding the final turn and then had some difficulty obtaining clear running near the 150 metres.
LOLLIEPROP - broke at the start and was taken up the track before settling. Raced three wide early.
LITTLEBITOFLOVE - broke briefly near the 1400 metres when at the rear.
LEXI T - broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground.
UNCLE LOUIS - raced four wide from the 800 metres. Weakened run home.
LISA MARIE P - driver M Perriton reported that a sulky tyre punctured during the middle stages. Ms Perriton also advised that she had been unable to activate the deafeners due to the release cord becoming entangled on the harness.
Race 5   ART MAJOR AT ALABAR MOBILE PACE
KANGO - driver T Mitchell was cautioned for using his whip free of the rein inside the final 150 metres.
MISTER SLICK - lay in approaching the first turn.
DINA BROWN - held up early in the run home.
AMERICAN DEALER - restrained early and raced at the rear throughout before running on in the home straight to finish in 5th place beaten 3.7 lengths. When questioned regarding the tactics he adopted driver D Butcher stated that tonight's race was up in class against older horses and that he had little option other than to restrain to the rear early when unable to secure a position in the one out running line. Mr Butcher further stated that he had not received a trail into the race as he had hoped and that the tempo increased markedly from the 600 metres so he felt he would not have been able to make up ground three wide on the final bend and believed his best option was to save the colt for a final run in the home straight. Mr Butcher's comments were duly noted.
YORKSHIRE - broke entering the first turn losing ground before settling. Over-raced middle stages.
CHRISTIANSHAVTIME - driver M McKendry was spoken to advisedly for using his whip free of the rein over the final 100 metres.
BAD TO THE BONE - driver Z Butcher was spoken to advisedly for using his whip with more than a wrist only flicking motion.
Race 6   PGG WRIGHTSON N.Z YEARLING SALES FINAL MOBILE TROT
MIDNIGHT DASH - raced in restricted room to the inside of ULTIMATE STRIDE over the final 50 metres.
ULTIMATE STRIDE - shifted out rounding the final turn. Lay in early in the run home and shifted down into the passing lane with Driver J Dickie then taking corrective action when MIDNIGHT DASH improved to his inside. Authorisation of this runner's 3rd placing was withheld until driver M McKendry (MIDNIGHT DASH - 4th place) confirmed that his chances had not been affected. Mr Dickie was subsequently warned to take immediate corrective action to remove his runner from the passing lane given similar circumstances in the future.
ONE MAJIC KENNY - over-raced during the score up with driver P Ferguson electing to remain on the back of ULTIMATE STRIDE as he felt that otherwise his gelding would have pulled its way forward of its correct Unruly position. Stewards accepted Mr Ferguson's explanation given the circumstances and exercised discretion by not taking the matter any further.
Race 7   KERRY HOGGARD MEMORIAL- 'THE HOLMES DG' HANDICAP PACE
SOUTH COAST ARDEN - driver B Mangos had difficulty activating the deafeners early in the run home. Mr Mangos was cautioned for using his whip free of the rein over the final stages.
CHECK IN - held up briefly inside the 200 metres.
COPY THAT - driver M McKendry was cautioned for using his whip free of the rein in the run home.
TRIPLE EIGHT - raced at the rear throughout and failed to run on over the final stages. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. When questioned regarding the performance driver D Butcher could offer no explanation for the disappointing run. Co-trainer S Telfer advised that he would have blood taken from the gelding and Stewards will follow up regarding the results in the coming days.
STAR GALLERIA - tended to shift out near the 1150 metres when being eased to take a trail.
TRIPLE EIGHT - Co trainer S Telfer advised that blood test taken showed the gelding to be unwell, resulting in it racing below its best and that TRIPLE EIGHT has since been under veterinary care. Mr Telfer advised that the gelding would be taken back to the trials before resuming.
Race 8   MAJESTIC SON AT ALABAR HANDICAP TROT
The start was delayed after KAY CEE went through the 30 metre barrier.
SAINT MICHEL - broke shortly after the start and trailed the field throughout.
TAKE THE MONARCH - broke early but soon settled.
KIMKAR DASH - held up early in the run home and had to shift ground outwards to secure clear running.
DAISY HILL - broke near the 350 metres losing its chance.
RESONATE - broke at the start losing considerable ground.
TEMPORALE - raced at the rear throughout. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 350 metres before finishing on into 5th placing beaten 4.7 lengths. When questioned regarding the performance Driver T Cameron stated that the 55 metre handicap had been the gelding's undoing but was satisfied with the run given the circumstances.
Race 9   ALWAYS B MIKI AT ALABAR MOBILE PACE
PIALLIGO - broke shortly after the start and galloped for a considerable distance before settling. A warning was placed on the gelding's mobile barrier manners. Stumbled passing the 750 metres when trailing the field but quickly recovered.
ROMANEE - driver P Ferguson was spoken to advisedly for using the whip free of the rein near the 100 metres.
Race 10   WELCOME BACK FANS TO ALEX PARK MOBILE PACE
CHABLIS - held up final turn.
PETER FORSBERG - lay in rounding the bend approaching the 800 metres and then again rounding the final turn when under pressure.
MARIA KIRILENKO - tired from the 800 metres. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. A warning was placed on the mare's racing performance.
CAPTAIN NEMO - raced without cover outside the leader before commencing to over-race from the middle stages and only battled in the run home to finish in 5th place beaten 3.7 lengths. When questioned regarding the performance driver D Butcher confirmed that the over-racing had taken its toll. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality.
Race 11   NEVELE R FILLIES SERIES (NO.42) HEAT 6 (MOBILE PACE)
