Race 3   SUPPORT THE NZ HORSE AMBULANCE TRUST TROT
COCHY MALC - breasted the barriers during the delay having to be turned away.
TAKE AFTER ME - paced at the start and had to be restrained into its correct gait.
ESCARGO - Stewards questioned driver G O'Reilly regarding the manner he drove on the first bend as to whether he could have been more aggressive in attempting to hold the position behind LISA MARIE P instead forfeiting that position to JERRY GARCIA. Mr O'Reilly explained that his mare had trotted roughly leading into the bend and tangled for several strides when attempting to lay inwards.
MARTHA STUART - caused a delay due to its fractious behaviour prior to the start. A warning was placed on the filly's barrier record. Began awkwardly. Had some difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the early and middle stages of the run home.
TEHORO DAZZLE - broke at the 2000 metres striking a sulky wheel and puncturing a tyre.
MAJESTIC ACTION - driver G Smith was cautioned for turning away from the barriers without reason. Weakened over the final stages. When spoken to regarding the mare's performance, G Smith advised the mare had trotted awkwardly throughout. He added that because of this he elected to put her into the race at the 1200 metres despite his belief that she raced better with cover as he felt she would struggle to sprint if trotting roughly. The connections advised it was their intention to send the horse for a brief spell. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
KOWHAI SUNDOWN - over-raced throughout. Held up by a weakening runner on the final bend having to shift wider. Trotted roughly in the run home.
LISA MARIE P - driver J Herbert reported she sustained a punctured right tyre during the running.
Race 4   TRACKSIDE DINING AT ADDINGTON MOBILE PACE
BETTOR CALL ME - held up rounding the final bend. Stewards questioned driver M Purdon regarding the lack of vigour he demonstrated between the 100 metres and the 50 metres. Mr Purdon explained that he had attempted to release his colt's deafeners however one plug had remained in place requiring him to persist in that action for a short time. Mr Purdon added that he was taking ground off the winner throughout this process and was able to continue to pressure his runner over the final stages.
ADMIRABLE - lay inwards when attempting to improve wide on the final bend losing some ground. Again lay inwards over the final stages.
LOUIE BOY - hung inwards in the score up and was unable to take up its position. Driver S Ottley reported the gelding to have fought her throughout the score up and she had recommended gear changes. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier record.
STAG PARTY - had to be restrained in the early stages when placed in restricted room by DELIGHTFUL DUDE.
DELIGHTFUL DUDE - driver M Lewis (assisted by G O'Reilly) was shown the films and issued with a warning for the manner in which she drove in the early stages when shifting down the track and contacting the right front leg of STAG PARTY which raced roughly.

SHADOW MINISTER - came together with CHEEZEL at the start.
RAZORS EDGE - broke at the start.
KINGMAKER - broke at the start. Stewards questioned driver M Williamson as to why he did not shift to a three wide position prior to the 400 metres before being covered up by the improving HAYDEN'S MEDDLE. Mr Williamson advised that his gelding only possessed a short sprint and believed it detrimental to his chances to race wide at this time considering the calibre of opposition he faced tonight and that he considered he was following two horses which were likely to give him a run into the race. He added that in a lesser class race he may have considered improving wide earlier.
