Race 1   HR FISKEN & SONS TROT (STAND)
SAFRAKOVA - lay in rounding the final turn contacting several marker pegs.
MAGNAFIQUE - slow to begin.
CYCLONE S ADAMS - Trainer T Macfarlane was issued a warning after CYCLONE S ADAMS was presented with the incorrect colours.
RUBY RIDGE - broke shortly after the start and trailed the field.
YOU REALLY GOT ME - broke at the start losing ground. Trotted roughly rounding the final turn and broke losing its chance.
OUR SPITFIRE - broke rounding the first turn losing considerable ground. Broke again passing the 900m when trailing the field.
DAISY HILL - slow away losing considerable ground before catching the field during the middle stages.
Race 2   PASCOES THE JEWELLERS NORTHERN OAKS FEB 28 MOBILE PACE
MILITARY MAN - raced keenly middle stages.
SMOKEN SHAZZA - raced keenly middle stages.
PROP ROCK - was taken forward early to race outside the leader. Weakened from inside the final 500m finishing at the rear.
THE SITUATION - lay in rounding the final turn.
EAGLE EYE - found to be lame in the near fore during its preliminary and was scratched on Veterinary advice at 7.05pm. Stood down pending a Veterinary clearance.
Race 3   FRANKLIN LONG ROOFING MOBILE PACE
SHEFFIELD SPARKY - tended to shift out under pressure throughout the run home despite being corrected by Driver T Mitchell.
TEXAS TIGER - caught three wide early before being taken forward to race outside the leader at the 1700m. Was prominent entering the home straight but then weakened inside the final 150m to finish 8th beaten 8.1lengths. When questioned regarding the performance Driver A Poutama stated that the gelding had raced keenly during the middle stages before disappointing when dropping the bit passing the 500m. A post race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormality. Stewards will follow up with connections regarding the gelding's recovery in the coming days.
TOMMY TUKAA - held up early stages of the run home.
DOWN THE HATCH - held up final turn.
JACK RYAN - inconvenienced approaching the 1800m when there was an easing of the pace in the one out running line.
HAMPTON BANNER - inconvenienced approaching the 1800m when there was an easing of the pace in the one out running line.
The connections of TEXAS TIGER advised Stewards on 14 February that the gelding has recovered well from its hard run at Alexandra Park last week and will continue with its current preparation.
Race 4   WOODLANDS STUD DERBY NIGHT MAR 6 MOBILE PACE
BE MY ROCK - lay in and contacted a marker peg near the 350m.
LITTLE MISS PERFECT - held up final turn and the early stages of the run home.
ROMANITE - paced roughly for a stride shortly after the start when being restrained. Cast its near hind shoe during the running.
TIGER SWIFT - permission was given for the anti-choke device to be removed prior to the start due to the gear being damaged during the preliminary.
MAGILLIGAN POINT - was taken forward and unsuccessfully challenged for the lead over the early stages and then raced without cover throughout. Weakened final stages.
SOME DO - raced four wide from the 700m and then five wide rounding the final turn.
WARLOCH - held up early and again in the latter stages of the run home.
CRUZEE MACH - held up over the early stages of the run home.
DELIGHTFUL MAJOR - raced three wide early.
Race 5   DAWSON HARFORD LTD HANDICAP TROT
MOLLY BONES - held up final turn and throughout the home straight when unable to secure clear running.
LOVEY DOVEY MOMENT - trotted roughly rounding the final turn before weakening. A post race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormality.
WOODSTONE - held up briefly early in the run home.
Race 6   'SHINING THE BRIGHT LIGHT OF OWNERS NIGHT' FEB 14 MOB PACE
M T POCKETS - challenged in the lead over the early and middle stages. Lay out racing down the back straight the final time which presented an inside run to the trailing runner and weakened from the 600m. A post race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormality. When questioned Junior Driver D Ferguson, assisted by Z Butcher, stated that he had been instructed to look to hold the lead from his inside barrier draw given that the gelding raced best in a forward position, and although receiving considerable pressure early he had been able to ease the pace and gain some respite. Mr Ferguson further advised that M T POCKETS had then rolled out when under pressure racing down the back and shown little when asked for an effort. Trainer T Vince advised that it was his intention to retire the gelding.
THE BATMOBILE - commenced to weaken from the 600m to finish distanced. A post race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormality. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing performance record.
RUNCLE - unsuccessfully contested for the lead over the early stages and then again racing through the front straight on the first occasion. Commenced to weaken from the 600m. A post race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormality. When questioned regarding the tactics he adopted Junior Driver Z Meredith, assisted by J Dickie, stated that he had been instructed by connections to look to go forward to obtain the lead however conceded that in hindsight he had over-done the second challenge for the lead and should have desisted earlier than he did. After considering the matter Mr Meredith was reprimanded for the manner in which he drove and advised that he would be expected to show better judgement in the future or risk greater action being taken against him.
LAGERTHA - Co-Trainers J & J Dickie were issued with a $100 Minor Infringement Notice for presenting the mare without the notified blinds.
BROOKIES JAFFA - obtained an inside run approaching the 600m when M T POCKETS shifted up the track.
Race 7   GO FROM LAST-TO-FIRST WHEN YOUR AT THE ALEX MOBILE PACE
SHES NO LADY - broke in the score up and was well back from position at dispatch.
FRANCO NANDOR - paced roughly over the final stages of the run home and could not be driven out.
LUKE JOHN - over-raced early stages when being restrained.
MR FANTASTIC - lay in and paced roughly for several strides approaching the 200m.
Race 8   NEVELE R 3YO FILLIES SERIES 42 (H1) MOBILE PACE (NON-TOTE)
NEED YOU NOW - Driver P Ferguson reported that he did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
ON A ROLL - broke for several strides shortly after the start but settled quickly.
DELIGHTFUL CATHERINE - inclined to lay in rounding the bends and in particular on the final bend contacting marker pegs.
MISS SHUGA - inclined to lay in rounding the bends. Weakened final stages.
