Following the abandonment of Race 8, Club Officials, Drivers, Trainers, Board members of HRNZ in consultation with Stipendiary Stewards met and unanimously decided to abandon the remainder of the card.

Race 1   ALEXANDRA NEW WORLD/SCAPEGRACE GIN AMATEUR MOBILE PACE
There was a delay to the start of this event due to a member of the public requiring the services of the Ambulance.
XMAS BAY - over-raced in the middle stages. Lay outwards passing the 900 metres. Driver M Stratford reported he could not activate the removable deafeners applied to the gelding due to the cord becoming entangled.
KOROMIKO EYRE - Driver M Love reported he could not activate the sliding blinds applied to the gelding due to the cord becoming entangled.
ROMANITE - raced wide in the early stages before improving to the lead near the 1500 metres. Over-raced in the middle stages.
RAH DE RAH - forced wider on the track passing the 1200 metres and raced four-wide thereafter.
MOTORING MAJOR - held up rounding the final bend and in the early stages of the home straight. Lay inwards over the concluding stages.
ROYAL JESTER - trainer A Edge was issued a Minor Infringement Notice and fined $100 when presenting this runner without the notified blinds.
RUSSIAN EXPRESS - raced four-wide from the 700 metres. Driver A Edge admitted a breach of the Push Out Rule when forcing RAH DE RAH wider on the track passing the 1200 metres. After viewing the relevant replays and hearing submissions on penalty the JCA imposed a fine of $250.
No claims were received.
Race 2   DUNCAN AGRICULTURAL / OMAKAU AUTO CENTRE TROT
KIWITRIX - broke at the start losing all chance.
DORA EXPLORER - out of position at the start. A final warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
BEV K'S ONE - trotted roughly throughout the run home and was unable to be driven out by junior driver B Hope.
MAINLAND PAT - weakened from the 600 metres.
WHANGAMATA - weakened from the 600 metres.
SUSIES WAY - broke at the start. Lay inwards on various occasions during the running.
TEASE MY TARTAN - removed from the Unruly for future standing start engagements.
IT'S SUMMERTIME - slow to begin. Broke racing into the first bend losing all chance.
Race 3   FLOORING XTRA / PAUL GALLAGHER FAMILY 3YO MOBILE PACE
ITZ ALLDOWN TO LUCK - over-raced in the score-up making contact with the mobile arm.
DYSLEXIC - raced wide in the early stages.
MIGHTY REACTOR - broke rounding the first bend. Paced roughly on various occasions during the running. Weakened from the 400 metres. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
Following the running of this event the official track conditions were upgraded to Good.
Race 4   BECKERS TRANSPORT/SAMUEL FENCING FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE
Due to the mobile barrier accelerating away no penalties were imposed on any horse or driver prior to the start point being reached.
MELISHKA - weakened from the 600 metres.
SILVER LADY - improved wide to sit parked passing the 800 metres.
NICOLE - over-raced in the middle stages.
INDULGENCE - raced wide in the early stages.
SHADOW DANCER - weakened from the 600 metres hampering trailing runners.
WICKED WITCH - driver D McCormick will be spoken to regarding his whip use rounding the final bend.
SHEZDAWON - hampered by a weakening runner rounding the final bend.
Race 5   SKEVINGTON CONTRACTING/SOUTHERN WIDE REAL ESTATE MOB PACE
MATAU MEG - Held up rounding the final bend.
EDGE SHEERAN - broke shortly after the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the horse.
SEAMARK - trainer R Todd was issued with a warning when presenting this runner without the notified blinds.
THE RHYTHM OF LIFE - hung inwards entering the bend near the 1200 metres then forced to race wider on the track thereafter. Raced greenly on various occasions during the running. Weakened rounding the final bend.
SCHNITZEL VON KRUMM - briefly hampered by a breaking runner in the home straight.
CARTER - shifted out forcing THE RHYTHM OF LIFE wider on the bend passing the 1200 metres. Driver J Bennett admitted a breach of the Push Out Rule and after viewing the relevant replays and hearing submissions on penalty the JCA imposed a fine of $250.
SUNSET RED - paced roughly and broke briefly passing the 200 metres.
THE MIGHTY CULLEN - hampered by a breaking runner shortly after the start.
Race 6   MACCA LODGE/CRAIG & MARIE MCNEILL JUNIOR DRIVERS MOBILE PACE
GLACIER COASTER - hampered by a breaking runner shortly after the start. Junior driver E Barron reported the near side hopple shortener failed to release due to becoming entangled.
DONEGAL GILBERT - hampered by a breaking runner shortly after the start.
ALTIMETER - shortly after the start the connecting strap to the crupper broke with the gelding being retired from the race. The gear was inspected and found to be in previous good condition.
THE WHITE RABBIT - hampered by a breaking runner shortly after the start.
OFF THE EDGE - hampered by a breaking runner shortly after the start. Weakened from the 500 metres.
KENSINGTON BILL - improved three-wide to the parked position passing the 1000 metres. When spoken to regarding the non activation of the hopple shorteners which were only up marginally, junior driver B Hope advised his instructions were to leave the shorteners in if the gelding was pacing tractably. This was confirmed by stable representative J Dunn.
Race 7   CENTRAL LAKES AUTOMOTIVE/DAVE COCKBURN CONSTRUCTION HCP TROT
MADAM SASS - broke at the start. Broke again passing the 2200 metres losing considerable ground.
NO FEARS - weakened rounding the final bend.
SUNNIVUE PHILEAH - broke at the start losing all chance.
SIERRA GOLD - broke at the start. Weakened from the 600 metres.
BIG IRON - began awkwardly.
DREAM OF PAT - weakened from the 900 metres. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed slow recovery.
MISS JESSICA - raced wide rounding the first bend. Hung inwards and trotted roughly passing the 1100 metres.
ALADDIN SANE - hung inwards and struck several track markers on the final bend.
Race 8   MCLARENS RANFURLY TRANSPORT/RD PETROLEUM FFA (MOBILE PACE)
The race was abandoned racing through straight on the first occasion after driver R May had suffered a serious medical event with Mr May transferred to Dunedin Hospital.
