FYNN FROST - Stewards questioned driver K Cameron regarding the tactics he adopted near the 1400 metres when electing to maintain his position outside the leader when an opportunity existed to obtain cover. Mr Cameron explained that he was aware the three wide line had progressed outside him so attempted to wrest the lead off STARS TONIGHT. Mr Cameron added that after being unsuccessful in his challenge he elected to maintain the parked position as he was concerned he may be shuffled back through the field if he had restrained his runner. After hearing from Mr Cameron, Stewards took the matter no further. Mr Cameron admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) in that he used his whip on more occasions than permitted by Clause (b) of the Use of Whip Regulations. After hearing submissions on penalty, the JCA suspended Mr Cameron's licence from the conclusion of racing on 30 December 2019 up to and including 12 January 2020 (4 days). | |
