Race 1   FAST10 HORSE RACING TROT
MAJESTIC ACTION - trotted roughly when negotiating the crossing.
SUNNY VALLEY - underwent a pre-race Veterinary check due to not racing for a considerable time and was cleared to race. Broke near the 350 metres when driver B Munro activated the removable gear with Mr Munro advising he will be making gear changes prior to its next start.
GO MARG - had to be steadied near the 1500 metres when ALDEBARAN BELLE shifted inwards. Held up throughout the run home.
MAJESTIC ROLLON - broke at the start.
ALDEBARAN BELLE - shifted inwards near the 1500 metres causing GO MARG to steady. Driver C DeFilippi was shown the films and advised to exercise more care when shifting ground. Held up final bend.
BLUFF HILL - broke in the early stages.
KD HAWK - broke shortly after the start. Broke near the 350 metres.
RITES OF ZHOU - hampered by a breaking runner at the start.
Race 2   COMMODORE HOTEL / TOUCHDOWN RENTALS MOBILE PACE
CARITA - hung inwards and broke near the 1600 metres, inconveniencing other runners, losing its chance.
JEREMY WELLS - briefly inconvenienced by a breaking runner near the 1600 metres. Held up final bend
SHESHEARTANDSOLE - raced wide round the first bend.
STAVROS THE TERROR - held up through the middle stages of the run home.
AMERICAN FLYER - held up through the middle stages of the run home.
DUKE - briefly inconvenienced by a breaking runner near the 1600 metres. Held up final bend.
ALREADY GONE - briefly inconvenienced by a breaking runner near the 1600 metres.
TACTICAL CHANGE - broke briefly in the score up and was out of position at the start. Weakened from the 600 metres.
POCKET ROCKNROLL - broke early in the score up losing all chance. A warning was placed on the mare's barrier record. The connections advised that POCKET ROCKNROLL will return to the trials before resuming.
Race 3   TOM PATTERSON MEMORIAL 'YOUNG AT HEART' HANDICAP TROT
BRIGHT GLOW - held up throughout the run home.
CABELLA NOIR - lay inwards passing the 300 metres having to be straightened by driver R Close.
FOREIGNER - lay outwards in the straights.
MOMENTOUS - began awkwardly.
TAKE AFTER ME - underwent a pre-race Veterinary check due to racing at Oamaru yesterday and was cleared to race. Raced wide round the first bend.
YOUNG STRANGER - held up throughout the run home.
BK DAWN - underwent a pre-race Veterinary check due to not racing for a considerable time and was cleared to race. Held up throughout the run home.
Race 4   MCARTHUR RIDGE CENTRAL OTAGO PINOT NOIR MOBILE PACE
JIMMY D - was inclined to hang outwards throughout the race with driver B Laughton advising that he will be recommending gear changes.
MILS MCARDLE - broke briefly in the score up.
KISS THE GIRLS - held up early and middle stages of the run home then lay in over the concluding stages.
ADHIKA - raced wide around first bend. Held up early in the run home.
OFFTHEBENCH - weakened badly from the 500 metres. A post race Veterinary inspection revealed a poor recovery.
Stewards will follow up with the connections in the coming days.
BUCKSKIN - raced wide around first bend.
VELVET - raced wide around first bend. Lay inwards making contact with the sulky wheel of UNDER WRAPS near the 1600 metres and was then checked when that runner broke and shifted outwards with driver S Tomlinson briefly unbalanced in the sulky. Miss Tomlinson was also shown the films and spoken to advisedly in regards to driving her horse to the finish of the race.
VIEWFIELD DREAM - when shifting ground inwards near the 300 metres lay outwards and made contact with BUCKSKIN and broke briefly. Junior driver S Thornley (in the presence of Senior driver R May) was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground notwithstanding the horse's tendency to lay outwards at this stage.
LUMINITE - fractious leaving the pre race circle and was out of position at the start.
UNDER WRAPS - broke and shifted outwards near the 1600 metres checking VELVET which had hung inwards. RIDE IN A CONCORDE was also checked in this incident.
RIDE IN A CONCORDE - raced wide around first bend. Hampered near the 1600 metres. Awkwardly placed to the back of LUMINITE passing the 800 metres. Trainer N McGrath was issued with a Minor Infringement Notice and fined $100 for presenting the filly with blinds which had not been notified.
Race 5   CRAYTHORNES HOTEL HALSWELL MOBILE PACE
GARRY'S LEGACY - held up early and middle stages of the run home with driver G Smith advising that he was not afforded the opportunity to activate the sliding blinds in consequence. The two minute breast plate came adrift over the concluding stages.
DONEGAL CARNBOUY - held up until late in the run home.
MR ASIA - held up early in the run home.
SHARDAN SUZIE - lay inwards throughout the run home.
OMAR SHARIF - held up throughout the run home.
EL CAPITAN - underwent a pre-race Veterinary check due to racing at Oamaru yesterday and was cleared to race.
Race 6   COLLEEN MCDERMOTT MEMORIAL JUNIOR DRIVERS PACE
DODGETHEBULLET - driver R Heads advised that she carried a flat tyre.
TRACKSAREFORTRAINS - broke and shifted outwards in the early stages.
NUI BA DEN - hampered by breaking runner at the start. Paced roughly at various stages throughout the run home.
STAR REACTOR - broke at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
TOMBELINA - broke briefly at the start.
PINE CONE - shied and shifted outwards when contesting the lead racing over the crossing.
BEAU MAJOR - raced wide around the first bend.
HES FAST AND FURIOUS - hampered by a breaking runner at the start.
GEORGIE ZUKOV - broke at the start.
FLAMBOYANT - raced wide around the first bend.
ROCKNROLL ROD - over-raced through the early stages.
Race 7   LEO MAY MEMORIAL FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE
Authorisation of first placing being awarded to CHRISTIAN WHO was delayed until driver R Close (CHLOE'S JOY) viewed the films in regards to an incident with 400 metres to run. After viewing the films Mr Close advised that he did not wish to proceed with the protest.
TOTAL DIVA - over-raced passing the 900 metres due to an easing of the pace with a wheel being struck by a trailing runner at this stage.
KAYLA MAGUIRE - raced wide early stages.
MAGICAL MELLISSA - over-raced and become awkwardly positioned to the back of CANSTAR and locked wheels briefly with IDEAL RULE near the 450 metres.
GLORY DAYS - over-raced passing the 900 metres due to an easing of the pace and struck the wheel of TOTAL DIVA as a result. Held up early stages of the run home.
SOUNDSLIKEART - raced wide early stages. Hung outwards on the final bend forcing KAYLA MAGUIRE and LILAC STAR wider on the track. This resulted in CHLOE'S JOY making contact with the improving CHRISTIAN WHO which had hung inwards simultaneously. Continued to lug outwards in the home straight.
SHERRY BABY - raced keenly early stages when being restrained to obtain cover.
IDEAL RULE - briefly locked wheels with MAGICAL MELLISSA near the 450 metres.
HIGHLAND REIGN - raced wide early stages.
CHLOE'S JOY - briefly contacted and placed in restricted room by CHRISTIAN WHO on the final bend after that runner had hung inwards. Held up early stages of the run home.
AVA ADORE - held up early and middle stages of the run home.
Race 8   NICKS PET FOODS / TRICES ROAD FIREWOOD MOBILE PACE
SMOKE N REACTOR - held up throughout the run home.
EUREKA - paced roughly in the run home.
DOCTOR TIM - broke near the 1800 metres before settling and racing wide around the first bend. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
ONE DIRECTION - hung outwards rounding the final bend.
RAH DE RAH - hung inwards then broke in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Hampered by a weakening runner passing the 500 metres. Paced roughly near the 200 metres.
MAD LU LI - raced wide in the early stages.
DONEGAL DAVY BOYD - paced roughly then broke near the 250 metres.
ANAMAJOR - broke racing over the crossing.
PRECIOUS SARA - broke in the score up and was slightly out of position at the start. Weakened passing the 600 metres.
SOUNDS LIKA GEM - hampered by a weakening runner near the 500 metres.
Race 9   HOPE RACING STABLES TROT
RUSTY I AM - broke at the start. Driver P Wakelin defended a charge of a breach of Rule 869 (2) in that she used her whip on more occasions than permitted by Clause (b) of the Use of Whip Regulations. After viewing the videos and hearing submissions the JCA found the charge proved with Miss Wakelin being fined $300.
FLYING MONKEY - held up early stages of the run home.
TEQUILA SUNSET - held up early in the run home.
NATIVES LASTING LOVE - lay out throughout the run home. Driver R Close advised he was unable to activate the removable hood.
ROGIE FALLS - broke briefly near the 800 metres.
HEAVENLY LOVE - hampered by breaking runner at the start.
JAW D NANCY - held up early stages of the run home.
TERRIER - subject to a pre-race Veterinary check and was cleared to race. Broke shortly after the start losing all chance.
Race 10   LINCOLN GOLDEN OLDIES MOBILE PACE
WHERE'S DADDY - hung outwards through the back straight. Weakened over the concluding stages. When questioned regarding the poor performance of the gelding trainer M Kerr expressed disappointment in the effort and advised that he will be having bloods taken in the coming days with Stewards following up with the results of these tests. A post race Veterinary inspection revealed some signs of lameness with a veterinary clearance to be presented before resumption.
STEEL THE SHOW - passed a pre-race Veterinary inspection after colliding with another runner in the preliminary.
SHOT IN THE DARK - passed a pre-race Veterinary inspection after colliding with another runner in the preliminary.
Hampered by BIRD OF PARADISE passing the 100 metres.
STETSON - raced wide into the first bend.
GLEN ELGIN TOMSON - held up on the home turn then hung outwards throughout the home straight hampering SHOT IN THE DARK passing the 100 metres.
BIRD OF PARADISE - held up early stages of the run home.
