Trainer I Schwamm advised Stewards on 18 October that blood tests taken from MAJESTIC SUNSET have revealed no abnormalities and the gelding will carry on with its current racing preparation.
Race 9 - GRAPHITE DEVELOPMENTS LTD SHOWDAY FUTURITY PRELUDE MOB PACE
Trainer J Harrington advised Stewards on 18 October that FLY LIKA FALCON was found to be suffering from a lung infection. This is now being treated prior to resuming racing.

Race 1   WELCOME TO JOHN PAUL II CENTRE FOR LIFE RACE NIGHT MOB PACE
PAT CAMPBELL - over-raced early stages when being restrained to obtain cover. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room and then had to be steadied passing the 100 metres when crowded by an outside runner.
BARKLEY - raced three wide throughout.
RUSSIAN EXPRESS - lay inwards on the final bend. Paced roughly in the home straight before breaking late in the run home. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
ASCALABUS - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver J Keast. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
COPPERFIELD - raced keenly through the middle stages. Held up final bend and for the majority of the home straight. Driver T Williams was spoken to for the manner in which he shifted ground near the 100 metres which briefly restricted the available room of another runner.
SIMPLY DREAMING - out of position at the start and failed to take any part in the race. When questioned driver A Cameron explained that when she urged the gelding it had clamped its tail giving her the impression that it was going to kick. Trainer M Purvis advised that it was his intention to give the gelding one more start with a more senior driver and if there was not a noticeable improvement, he would re-assess its racing future. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier record.
Race 2   JOHN JONES STEEL & PAPANUI PARISH TROT
LISTEN EASY - broke at the start.
LUMINOSITY - fractious prior to the start and caused a lengthy delay. Underwent and passed a pre-race veterinary examination after becoming entangled in the sulky of LISTEN EASY. Broke at the start. Declared unruly for future standing starts.
MONO GAMBLE - fractious prior to the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Trotted roughly and mixed its gait racing into the first bend checking trailing runners. The all clear was delayed while Stewards reviewed the films with driver T Williams and Trainer S Smolenski to determine whether the gelding had lost ground in a gallop on the first bend. Mr Williams advised that he felt his horse had retained its proper gait throughout this period albeit roughly. After considering his explanation Stewards were not comfortably satisfied that MONO GAMBLE had failed to lose ground when in a break and so took the matter no further.
SUPERFAST LAD - hampered by a breaking runner racing into the first bend and was forced to race wider on the track.
ALDEBARAN BELLE - a false start was declared due to ALDEBARAN BELLE swinging sideways prior to the start hampering SUPERFAST LAD. Fractious prior to the re-start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly. Broke after 100 metres. Broke again near the 800 metres. Co-trainer C DeFilippi advised that it was his intention to return the filly to the trials prior to resuming.
AWESOME IMPEE - checked and broke racing into the first bend.
RACHEL DAYTOM - broke after 150 metres.
RAINING IN MY HEART - fractious prior to the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Weakened from the 600 metres.
MAUI VACATION - broke at the start.
DUDES STAR - broke near the 500 metres. Again broke near the 250 metres.
FAITH NO MORE - broke at the start.
KOWHAI SUNDOWN - hung inwards final bend and trotted roughly.
AVEROSS MAJESTY - broke near the 2100 metres.
Race 3   VIVACE COFFEE ROASTING & RICCARTON PARISH PACE
PRODIGAL GUINNESS - Began awkwardly. Weakened on the final bend.
PROSPECT PARK - broke briefly at the start.
GLENLEDI BANDIT - hung and raced roughly on the first bend. Over-raced in the middle stages. Hung inwards and paced roughly rounding the final bend and in the early stages of the run home.
FREDDIESAM - broke at the start and lost ground.
DREAM OF GLORY - raced wide from the 1000 metres.
Race 4   McMILLAN EQUINE FEEDS SIRES' STAKES (HEAT 3) (MOB PACE)
FLYING EVEN BETTOR - driver T Williams reported he was unable to activate the removable deafeners. Co-trainers M Purdon and N Rasmussen were cautioned for failing to affix the gear so as not to malfunction.
SKIPPYS DELIGHT - hung inwards leaving the final bend. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the home straight. Driver R May reported he did not activate the removable deafeners.
Race 5   MURNEY FAMILY TRUST & MID CANTERBURY PARISH MOBILE TROT
BRIAN - checked by a breaking runner shortly after the start losing considerable ground.
FAR FROM TRUE - broke shortly after the start checking BRIAN. Broke again near the 700 metres.
PHOEBE ONYX - lay inwards throughout the run home.
EASY PICKINGS - broke near the 500 metres.
ALVIRA HEST - broke as the start was effected losing ground. Hampered near the 1250 metres.
SHE'S ALLTHE CRAZE - out of position at the start.
B D YASOTHON - broke in the score up and was out of position at the start. Hampered near the 1250 metres.
MARIA TSARINA - trotted roughly passing the 900 metres and had to be steadied by driver C Jones. Broke near the 400 metres. Was treated on returning to the stable area for a significant laceration to the left front pastern. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance.
RUM IN THE SUN - out of position at the start.
TAKE AFTER ME - out of position at the start. Hampered passing the 1300 metres after a slight easing of the speed in the two wide line and switched to a pace being immediately restrained by driver S Smith.
Race 6   BOWDEN ENVIRONMENTAL & WAIMAKARIRI PARISH HANDICAP PACE
NANDOLO - the required veterinary clearance was received. Held up for clear racing room in the early and middle stages of the home straight.
SELF ASSURED - broke at the start. The overcheck bit became dislodged in the early stages and hung loose during the race. Raced keenly through the middle stages.
ULTIMATE SNIPER - broke briefly at the start.
HENRY HUBERT - paced roughly rounding the first bend and had to be steadied.
CLASSIE BRIGADE - tangled away.
Race 7   LLOYD & JANE HICKMAN & BRYNDWR PARISH MOBILE TROT
MEDUSA - trotted roughly in the score up and was out of position at the start. Held up final bend and in the early stages of the home straight.
SPLASH COLA - weakened leaving the final bend.
THE DOMINATOR - weakened final bend. Driver C Thornley reported the gelding had been hanging inwards rounding the bends.
OSCAR BONAVENA - pre-race warmed.
DESTINY JONES - held up final bend by a tiring runner.
WOODSTONE - trotted roughly in the score up and was back slightly at the start.
AMARETTO SUN - weakened final bend.
BORDEAUX - trotted roughly in the score up and was out of position at the start. Trotted roughly through the middle stages.
Race 8   FRIENDS OF CHRIST THE KING & BURNSIDE PARISH HANDICAP PACE
DOCTOR TIM - tangled away.
DONEGAL CARRICKFIN - broke at the start.
BETTATHANFAST - broke at the start.
CHANGE IS GOOD - late scratching at 6.50pm due to track conditions.
Race 9   THERMO KING S.I. NZ & HORNBY/DARFIELD PARISH HANDICAP TROT
MILLY AN EYRE - received pressure from an outside runner racing into the first turn having to be steadied. Stewards inquired into an incident near the 1250 metres when driver M Anderson shifted outwards causing BRIGHT GLOW (I Cameron) to race marginally wider for a brief distance. After speaking with drivers M Anderson and I Cameron, Mr Anderson was advised that in future it was expected that he shift ground at an earlier time so as to avoid any other runner being potentially hampered.
CLYDE - broke briefly at the start. Broke again after 150 metres. Weakened final bend.
PRINCE TEKA - driver K Cameron was issued with a warning for shifting inwards racing into the first turn causing MILLY AN EYRE to be crowded.
RED HARBOUR - raced wide from the 1600 metres. Weakened final bend.
MONRIKA - began awkwardly.
LOVEY DOVEY MOMENT - trotted roughly in the home straight and was unable to be fully driven out.
MATUA TANA - stood on the mark losing considerable ground. Broke near the 1100 metres losing all chance. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing record. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
Race 10   FRIENDS OF JOHN PAUL II CENTRE FOR LIFE MOBILE PACE
FROSTY RECEPTION - hampered by a breaking runner on the final bend.
MACHS MARETA - hung outwards in the score up and was out of position at the start. Hampered by a breaking runner on the final bend.
ABOVE N BEYOND - hampered by a breaking runner on the final bend. Hung inwards in the early stages of the home straight when being shifted wider to obtain clear racing room.
B MAC C - hampered by a breaking runner on the final bend.
MELTON REACTOR - trainer A Edge reported his gelding to have had hock injections since last racing. Over-raced middle stages. Hung inwards final bend causing driver G Smith considerable difficulty. Broke near the 300 metres. Stood down pending one satisfactory trial.
FRANCO TEXAS - over-raced early stages. Hampered by a breaking runner on the final bend.
Race 11   DUNSTAN HORSE FEEDS MET MEGA SERIES MOBILE PACE
BETTOR BELIEVE IT - when questioned regarding the gelding's performance, driver B Orange advised he was disappointed with the performance and could offer no explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a high heart rate and slow recovery.
LENNOX BROMAC - late scratching at 8.30pm on veterinary advice. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance.
SILENT MAJOR - broke after 150 metres.
SHADOW AVEROSS - broke briefly in the early stages of the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Weakened from the 900 metres. When spoken to regarding the performance, trainer/driver A Faulks reported the mare to have raced lethargically throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery. A warning was placed on the racing performance of the mare.
