Race 1   LEVEL ONE RESTAURANT & BAR HANDICAP TROT
HELLUVA WAY - held up in the middle stages of the home straight.
ALPINE RETREAT - broke passing the 1950 metres losing some ground. Held up in the final stages of the home straight. Junior driver E Barron reported she did not activate the removable deafeners applied to the gelding.
EILISH HALL - broke briefly passing the 200 metres before settling.
SOUTH PARK - broke at the start. Lost a bell boot rounding the final bend.
RUGGED PEAK - raced wide in the early stages.
SPURRED BY SUCCESS - fractious prior to the tapes being released. Trotted roughly then broke passing the 750 metres. Broke again rounding the final bend. Trainer A Wohlers advised he would no longer be persevering with the gelding as a racing proposition from his stable.
CUDDLY TROUBLE - over-raced in the middle stages.
APOLLO MISSION - weakened rounding the final bend.
THE REV - broke over the concluding stages.
Race 2   WELCOME TO OWNERS' DAY MOBILE PACE
BUB'S VC - hung inwards and broke briefly rounding the first bend, placing BE INSPIRED in restricted room.
DALNESS ARIZONA - when spoken to regarding the seemingly improved performance stable representative Mr A Armour explained that the horse was a recent acquisition to the stable and its recent form appeared far worse than what it was. Mr Armour added that three starts ago the horse had broken early and lost it's chance then two starts ago failed to see out the 2700 metre distance. Mr Armour further added that he had been pleased with the horses last run and then from a handy draw today had been able to dictate a suitable tempo against a field which he felt represented a significant drop in class to recent opposition.
BE INSPIRED - raced in restricted room rounding the first bend. Held up rounding the final bend.
PHOEBE'S DELIGHT - briefly hampered by BUB'S VC passing the 1850 metres.
SPORTS PAGE - briefly hampered by BUB'S VC passing the 1850 metres. Weakened rounding the final bend. When spoken to regarding the performance trainer/driver B Williamson expressed disappointment however could offer no tangible explanation. Stewards will follow up the recovery of the mare with Mr Williamson in the coming days.
SEFTON HOOLIGAN - briefly hampered by BUB'S VC passing the 1850 metres.
Race 3   REGENT CAR COURT FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE
MISS AUCKLAND - over-raced passing the 600 metres. Weakened rounding the final bend.
RAZCAL ALLEY - over-raced through the middle stages.
KICKUPYAHEELS - broke shortly after the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Held up rounding the final bend. Driver R Swain was issued a warning for driving with his foot removed from the sulky footrest in the home straight.
VICTORIA CALLING - Over-raced through the middle stages.
ESTHER JACCKA - when spoken to regarding the performance driver N Williamson could offer no tangible explanation. Trainer B Gray advised the mare would now be sent for a spell.
BETTER THANA MISSUS - held up rounding the final bend and in the early stages of the home straight.
Race 4   MACCA LODGE MOBILE PACE
SOUTHIN EXCUSE - paced roughly in the middle stages.
ROUGH AND READY - broke late in the score-up losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Broke again shortly after the start.
HOKURI PLATTER - over-raced through the middle stages.
Race 5   MCKNIGHT & BROWN TROT
SPUR TO ACTION - broke passing the 2000 metres losing considerable ground.
MISS BAMBOOCHA - broke passing the 2000 metres losing all chance.
RITEUR - broke shortly after the start and again on several further occasions during the running, losing all chance.
DAVEY MAC - broke at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Over-raced throughout. Driver P Williamson was shown the films and reminded of his obligations when starting from an Unruly position.
WHATWILLBEEWILLBEE - broke at the start losing considerable ground.
THE NIGHT SWEATS - briefly hampered by a breaking runner passing the 2000 metres.
Race 6   SETARIP SYNDICATE 50TH ANNIVERSARY MOBILE PACE
CANDIDASA - over-raced through the middle stages.
BALIUS - held up rounding the final bend.
MAIDONTHEBEACH - lay inwards on the final bend contacting several track markers.
Race 7   ASCOT PARK HOTEL JUNIOR DRIVERS MOBILE PACE
JACKS N JAZZ - broke in the score-up and failed to settle, losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
MAD DOG MADDY - weakened rounding the final bend.
DONEGAL MARY FRANCIS - broke in the score-up.
IWANADANCEWITSUMBODY - when spoken to regarding the performance of his runner driver B Laughton could only advise that he had been disappointed with its performance. Stewards will speak with trainer H Hunter in the coming days.
SWIFT ROBYN - over-raced in the middle stages. Hampered by a tiring runner rounding the final bend.
Race 8   BOOK YOUR CHRISTMAS FUNCTION TODAY PACE
HAZER - broke at the start. Trainer B Gray advised the gelding would now be sent for a spell.
TACT DENZEL - lay inwards passing the 150 metres placing an inside runner in restricted room.
AMERICAN MAC - broke at the start.
ELVA JACCKA - badly hampered by a breaking runner passing the 1900 metres, briefly locking wheels with TARTAN TRILOGY.
BELMONT MAJOR - late scratching on Veterinary advice at 11.38am.
HOLY HAVOC - placed in restricted room by an outside runner passing the 150 metres, making contact with the sulky wheel of that runner and briefly breaking in consequence.
TETRICK - held up rounding the final bend and in the early stages of the home straight.
WOLF WEST - held up rounding the final bend.
TARTAN TRILOGY - broke and stumbled racing into the first bend severely hampering ELVA JACCKA on its outside and locking wheels with that runner. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
SHEEZA SPORT - cleared from the Unruly for upcoming standing start engagements.
Race 9   CONGRATULATIONS SETARIP SYNDICATE MOBILE PACE
RUNNING ON EMPTY - raced wide in the early stages. Hampered by a tiring runner passing the 600 metres. Held up rounding final bend. Driver B McLellan will be spoken to in relation to the manner he drove near the 800 metres and again in the home straight.
EDIE JACCKA - held up rounding the final bend.
ANNIE FITZ - held up rounding the final bend.
FRINGEBENEFIT -over-raced through the middle stages. Weakened from the 600 metres. Driver B Williamson reported the mare had pulled hard and been striking the wheels throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be lame in both front legs. Connections were advised a veterinary clearance would be required prior to FRINGEBENEFIT racing next.
