Race 1   NZ HORSE TRANSPORT LTD TROT
SHES SO RIGHT - broke at the start. Junior Driver S Tomlinson reported the mare had hung outwards rounding the final bend.
WHANGAMATA - hung inwards and trotted roughly at various stages.
BE BEE LASS - weakened from the final bend.
KEN'S DREAM - trotted roughly throughout.
Race 2   NORWOOD FARM MACHINERY CENTRE FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE
CLIFTON JESSIE - over-raced in the early to middle stages.
PHIL'S LAST CHANCE - hung inwards racing into the first bend and despite the efforts of Junior Driver M Hurrell made contact with the front leg of CLIFTON JESSIE.
PHOEBE'S DELIGHT - paced roughly shortly after the start.
LOISSONYA - held up on the final bend. Held up briefly in the middle stages of the home straight.
SHEZDAWON - held up on the final bend.
Race 3   IN APPRECIATION CHRIS ALLISON COLTS & GELDINGS MOBILE PACE
JAMIES BAD BOY - over-raced in the middle stages. Held up for clear racing room throughout the home straight. Driver B Williamson reported he did not activate the removable deafeners due to this.
PLAY BY EAR - held up rounding the final bend and throughout the run home. Driver N Williamson reported he did not activate the removable gear due to this.
BALDOON - paced roughly shortly after the start then broke after 150 metres then kicked out on several occasions losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
HUCKABEE - raced wide in the early stages.
ABSOLUT RUSSIAN - hung outwards in the home straight.
TOP POCKET CHANCE - paced roughly passing the 500 metres and lost ground.
Race 4   JASON TEAZ AND DAVEY MAC MEDLEY MOBILE PACE
HANNITY - broke in the score up losing all chance. Was placed on the unruly for future starts. Held up in the early stages of the run home. Driver M Williamson advised that he would be recommending hopple shorteners be added to the gelding's gear.
BRANTLEY - Driver T Chmiel advised that he did not activate the removable gear due to having the field covered.
AVEROSS RUSTLER - hung inwards at various stages throughout the event.
FOUR STARZZZ SHIRAZ - Trainer/driver D O'Connell was issued a Minor Infringement for failing to affix the removable deafeners and sliding blinds so as not to malfunction and fined $100.
Race 5   RICOH HANDICAP TROT
SVELT - broke near the 2300 metres losing all chance.
BONO HEST - tangled away. Trotted roughly leaving the first bend.
BEST OF THE BUNCH - trotted roughly from the 600 metres. Held up on the final bend before breaking near the 300 metres. Cleared from the unruly for future standing starts.
SCARLETT LANE - weakened final bend.
THAT'S THE STORY - when spoken to regarding the performance of the gelding Trainer/Driver B Williamson advised that the horse had been unsuited to the longer distance of tonight's race and felt the gelding would derive considerable benefit from the race.
Race 6   GLAMOUR HOOVES RACING STABLES/THANKS JASON TEAZ PACE
MATINEE IDOL - over-raced in the middle stages.
THABOYZ TOY - broke at the start.
FRANK THE TANK - broke at the start. Weakened final bend.
LIGHTFOOT LADY - compounded from the 1600 metres and was retired from the event. A post race Veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. The mare was stood down to trial satisfactorily on one occasion.
TETRICK - raced wide early stages.
ITZ A MAJOR BABE - broke at the start. Unable to find clear racing room in the home straight with Driver B Williamson advising he did not activate the removable deafeners due to this.
G T REACTOR - held up final bend.
Trainer J Cox advised Stewards on 12 July that LIGHTFOOT LADY had returned to his stable with nasal discharge and a cough. Mr Cox added that the mare would be treated and sent for a spell.
Race 7   YALDHURST HOTEL MOBILE PACE
LITTLE RAIN - weakened round the final bend. Stewards investigated a perceived breach of the Push Out Rule passing the 1300 metres when DREAMINSOVER raced wider on the track. After reviewing the films it was established that DREAMINSOVER had not been progressing forward when LITTLE RAIN shifted outwards therefore no further action was required.
IWANADANCEWITSUMBODY - raced wide in the early stages. Held up for racing room round the final bend.
ALEXY - Driver C Ferguson was shown the films and warned under Rule 869(4) for the manner he drove for a distance passing the 1200 metres when jostling for position with DREAMINSOVER.
FLAMING JIM - raced four wide near the 1200 metres. Over-raced and hung when reaching the lead for the final lap.
Race 8   DUNEDIN CITY MOTORS MOBILE PACE
A false start was declared due to EDIE JACCKA breaking and interfering with THE RED ROBBER. There was a further delay to the restart due to a sulky change on THE RED ROBBER.
HANNAH EXTREME - when spoken to regarding the performance of the mare Driver B Orange reported he was disappointed with it's efforts.
MARTIN MCGUINNESS- held up for racing room round the final bend and over the concluding stages of the home straight.
VIGOROSO - held up for racing room round the final bend and in the early to middle stages of the home straight. Stewards opened and adjourned an enquiry into the way D Simpson drove prior to the 400 metre mark.
EDIE JACCKA - broke in the score up checking THE RED ROBBER with Driver T Chmiel electing to restart from the unruly where it will remain for it's future mobile starts. Over-raced when racing wide in the early stages. Hung inwards in the latter stages of the home straight.
SHINDAL - Trainer S Lock was issued a Minor Infringement notice for $100 for presenting his runner with the incorrect number. Over-raced when being restrained to take cover near the 1800 metres.
ELLNBAC - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the home straight.
THE RED ROBBER - hung inwards in the latter stages of the home straight.
CARLO GAMBINO - held up for racing room in the home straight.
