Race 1   ULTIMATE MACHETE AT ALABAR MOBILE PACE
INVISIBLE GIRL - trainer B Hutton was charged a $25 colour fee.
ABBY GOLIGHTLY - had to be steadied racing into the first bend when crowded for racing room.
DON'T TELL ANGE - driver A Mugford (assisted by J Cox) was spoken to regarding the manner in which she shifted ground in the early stages which restricted the racing room available to ABBY GOLIGHTLY. Driver A Mugford (assisted by J Cox) admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) in that she used her whip on more occasions than permitted by Clause (b) of the Use of the Whip Regulations. After hearing submissions on penalty, the JCA imposed a fine of $200. When spoken to regarding the mare's improved performance, trainer A Mugford reported that the mare had derived benefit from the application of blinds and had performed well at a recent Workout in preparation.
CHAMPERS - weakened over the final stages. Driver R Close reported the filly had been forced to work too hard through the early stages.
ROBYNS MAJOR - hung inwards throughout the run home. When questioned regarding the performance, driver M Anderson explained he had been disappointed with her efforts when asked to quicken inside the final 400 metres. Trainer S Dolan advised the horse had only had limited experience at trials and was perhaps undeserving of its status as favourite.
DEJA BLUE - paced roughly in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the filly's barrier record.
Race 2   PASCOES THE JEWELLERS LADIES' RACE NIGHT 26 JULY MOBILE TROT
DOLLY JONES - broke in the early stages losing considerable ground. Driver G Smith reported his mare to have been awkward in its action throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed some sensitivity to the lower back and left hock. Stewards will follow up with trainer D Hunter in the coming days.
FAST WET N WINDEE - broke passing the 800 metres.
CRUSHER COLLINS - raced wide in the early stages. When spoken to regarding the performance, both trainer L Bond and driver J Dunn felt the mare had to work too hard through the early stages.
FRANCO JOSIAH - broke in the score up losing ground. Will now be drawn unruly for mobile starts. Again broke racing into the first bend losing its chance.
TOPNOTCH TITAN - broke in the score up losing ground. Will now be drawn unruly for mobile starts.
CHAMPAGNE PRINCE - lay outwards under pressure through the home straight.
JAGUAR BAY - trotted roughly near the 600 metres and lost ground when being steadied. Continued to trot roughly thereafter and was distanced over the final stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
Race 3   FERNLAW - GARRY THOMPSON SOLICITOR MOBILE PACE
REBEL WITH A GRIN - over-raced early stages.
B MAC C - held up early stages of the run home. Driver K Butt reported she had not released the gelding's deafeners.
MAJOR DEAL - placed in restricted room for a short distance through the score up and in consequence was slightly out of position at the candy pole.
TEAM KIWI - raced roughly in the score up after making contact with the barrier arm hampering an inside runner.
UPTOWN LADY - pre-race warmed.
WARLOCH - held up early stages of the run home.
SAGINAW - raced wide in the early stages.
Race 4   $50 ALL UP JULY CHALLENGE (JUNIOR DRIVERS) MOBILE PACE
NAIYA FRANCO - when spoken to regarding the mare's performance, driver S Tomlinson could only advise she had been disappointed with its efforts. A post-race veterinary examination revealed minor sensitivity in the left front foot. Stewards will follow up with trainer M Jones in the coming days.
HE'S A LADIES MAN - lay inwards throughout the home straight. Driver R Heads reported that because of this she had not been able to release the gelding's deafeners.
Race 5   PI & GJ KENNARD BLOODSTOCK HANDICAP TROT
RUM IN THE SUN - lay inwards in the early stages of the run home.
SPLASH COLA - driver R Close reported his mare to have hung inwards on the bends which resulted in him striking a number of pylons near the 300 metres.
THE DOMINATOR - locked stays briefly with DESTINY JONES near the 1600 metres.
DESTINY JONES - locked stays briefly with THE DOMINATOR near the 1600 metres.
Race 6   MAKING IT HAPPEN GK FYFE PAINTERS MOBILE PACE
HUEY LEWIS - driver T Williams was issued with a warning for the manner in which he shifted ground racing into the first bend which caused FUN IN THE DARK to race in restricted room.
PAY ME VISA - when spoken to regarding the improved performance of the gelding the connections advised the horse had benefited from a return to mobile racing.
UNICO LEGEND - over-raced in the early and middle stages.
MIKEY MAGUIRE - out of position at the candy pole despite the efforts of driver S Smolenski. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier record. Driver S Smolenski was issued with a warning for the manner in which he used his whip over the final stages.
Race 7   PEEK EXHIBITION MOBILE TROT
SKYLINE - when questioned regarding the performance of the gelding, driver T Williams could only advise he had been very disappointed with its efforts. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
EASY PICKINGS - broke with 60 metres to run.
TERRIER - back from the unruly at the start. Broke near the 1400 metres losing its chance.
Race 8   AVON CITY FORD HANDICAP PACE
BUZINGA - broke at the start.
Race 9   TERROR TO LOVE - PINELEA FARM MOBILE PACE
GLIDING AWAY - held up rounding the final bend.
DUKE OF DUNDEE - over-raced early stages.
TIGER MOTH - over-raced middle stages.
