Race 1   FAT SALLY'S PUB & RESTAURANT TROT
DD'S SUPER STUART - broke at the start.
KEN'S DREAM - driver L Dobbs admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) in that he used his whip on more occasions than permitted by Clause (b) of the Use of the Whip Regulations and after hearing submissions on penalty, the JCA imposed a fine of $200.
MAJICION - held up for clear racing room in the early and middle stages of the run home.
T BONE RAWHIDE - broke at the start. Broke again racing into the first bend losing all chance.
MAJESTIC ROSE - broke at the start. Authorisation of 3rd placing being awarded was withheld until Stewards confirmed the mare had complied with the Breaking Horse Regulations in the early stages.
TEASE MY TARTAN - broke at the start. Weakened from the 800 metres. A warning was placed on the racing performance of the gelding.
Race 2   DAVID OVENS BUILDING PACE
BOMBSHELL - broke briefly at the start.
KATH'S FINALE - broke racing into the first bend losing all chance.
ROCKNROLL MAX - hung inwards and paced roughly rounding the final bend.
THE DIVA - driver B Laughton reported the filly had hung inwards during the running and had been showing signs of lameness. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Stewards will follow up the recovery of the filly in the coming days.
MY NIGHT SKY - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after going down in the float en route to the course and was cleared to start. Hampered on the first bend.
DON'T TELL ANGE - hampered on the first bend. Driver A Mugford (assisted by C Markham) was spoken to advisedly for using her whip when out of contention.
Race 3   PICK AND SHOVEL WINE TROT
RED HARBOUR - trotted roughly in the early stages.
QUAESTOR - trotted roughly rounding the first bend. Again trotted roughly in the home straight and was unable to be fully driven out in consequence.
MAUDARCHY - broke at the start losing considerable ground.
DON'T LOOK BACK - held up by a tiring runner near the 500 metres.
DON'T ROCK THE BOAT - tired rounding the final bend.
TEHORO DAZZLE - trainer/driver R Holmes reported that the removable deafeners had not fully activated.
LIBERTY STRIDE - broke after 150 metres.
ANOTHERSUPERSTAR - broke near the 2100 metres. Held up final bend. Driver B Laughton reported that the mare had dropped a knee boot during the running.
HUMBLE LADD - trotted roughly passing the 800 metres before breaking near the 700 metres.
CRUSHER COLLINS - raced wide in the early stages.
Race 4   ONE SMART COFFEE HANDICAP PACE
VICTOR TANGO - weakened around the final bend.
SHADOW MINISTER - broke at the start. Held up for a short distance on the final bend.
DONEGAL CARRICKFIN - broke at the start.
UNICO LEGEND - underwent a veterinary examination prior to the start and was cleared to race. Forced wider on the track rounding the final bend before weakening. When spoken to regarding the performance, driver B Hope reported he was disappointed with the effort. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Stewards will follow up the recovery of the gelding in the coming days.
Race 5   MORRISONS SADDLERY & FEED MOBILE PACE
FLEETMASTER - weakened final bend. When spoken to regarding the performance, driver S Tomlinson advised that the gelding had worked hard in the early stages to maintain the lead with the effort taking its toll.
PACIFIC CHAL - gave ground from the 1000 metres. Stood down until the completion of one satisfactory trial prior to resuming.
GLIDING PAST - checked by a breaking runner in the early stages. Weakened final bend.
RED ONYX - broke shortly after the start and blundered before shifting inwards abruptly checking TOP POCKET CHANCE. Placed on the unruly for future mobile starts and stood down to complete one satisfactory mobile trial.
MINNELLI SMILE - hampered by a breaking runner in the early stages. Weakened final bend.
BICTON - hampered by a breaking runner in the early stages.
LILAC CHANGE - lay inwards leaving the final bend.
IRON WOMAN - weakened from the 600 metres.
REBEL WITH A GRIN - checked by a breaking runner in the early stages.
ONSPEED - checked by a breaking runner in the early stages.
TOP POCKET CHANCE - unable to maintain its position behind the mobile despite the efforts of its driver. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Checked by a breaking runner in the early stages losing all chance.
Race 6   AIRPARK CANTERBURY JUNIOR DRIVERS MOBILE PACE
VIGOROSO - broke in the early stages of the score up. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Paced roughly near the 1600 metres after a slight easing of the pace. Over-raced and hung outwards rounding the final bend when held up by a tiring runner causing driver R Heads some difficulty.
MAGICAL MELLISSA - paced roughly near the 1600 metres after a slight easing of the pace. Weakened final bend.
AMERICAN MAC - paced roughly leaving the final bend.
SWEET LORESS - raced greenly passing the 1600 metres resulting in a slight easing of the pace. Hung inwards leaving the final bend.
GO DAVEY - raced wide early stages until reaching the parked position near the 1300 metres.
GABBY'S STAR - held up final bend.
Race 7   NEXT MEETING HERE 28th JULY MOBILE PACE
THE MAROON MARAUDER - lay inwards late in the run home crowding inside runners.
CLASSIE MARGARET - crowded late in the run home and had to be steadied.
FLYINGMASTERWILLIAMS - out of position at the start. Driver L O'Reilly was issued with a warning. Over-raced middle stages.
PAUL'S VERDICT - crowded late in the run home and had to be steadied.
KNOCKMANAUGH - weakened final bend.
Race 8   SPRINGBANK HANDICAP TROT
There was a delay to the start due to DE VITO requiring gear adjustments.
BREENYS CULLEN - raced wide without cover from the 1100 metres. Weakened passing the 600 metres.
SPOTLIGHT THE VALLEY - held up leaving the final bend.
IMRAN KHAN - held up final bend and in the early and middle stages of the home straight. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 200 metres.
IDEAL INVASION - trotted roughly in the middle stages.
DE VITO - trotted roughly early stages. Continued to trot roughly in the home straight and was unable to be driven out by its driver.
ONE OVER DA SKYE - raced wide early stages. Broke with 200 metres to run. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
TRICK STAR - hampered by a breaking runner with 200 metres to run.
