Race 11 - VISIT @bluestarchch TO WIN 1K & NIGHT AT ADDINGTON MOB PACE
Stewards questioned drivers R Holmes (KIWIS ARE FLYING) and B Munro (CLIVE) in regards to an incident after 100 metres when ANYTIME (J Dunn) sustained a punctured sulky tyre. It was established that KIWIS ARE FLYING had hung inwards despite the efforts of Mr Holmes and placed CLIVE in restricted room resulting in contact being made with the wheel of ANYTIME. After considering the evidence of the drivers and viewing the replays Stewards took the matter no further.

Trainer J Cox advised Stewards on 12 April that veterinary checks of THE DOORMAN revealed no abnormalities with the gelding continuing with its current preparation.

Driver M Stratford (I'M SICK OF EXCUSES) was warned for his lack of control through the middle stages when allowing his horse to shift ground on several occasions when trailing runners.

Race 1   COUNTRY FEASTS TROT
TEHORO DAZZLE - broke at the start losing all chance.
HEAVENLY LOVE - held up early stages of the run home.
MIDNIGHT ASSASSIN - broke at the start losing all chance.
BRIGHT GLOW - hung inwards and struck pylons rounding the final bend.
SUN SWINGER - trotted roughly throughout the home straight and was unable to be driven out.
RED HARBOUR - cleared from the unruly for future standing starts.
TOPNOTCH TITAN - broke shortly after the start losing all chance. Stood down from standing starts until the completion of one satisfactory trial.
Race 2   PETER SMITH FFA MOBILE TROT
DESTINY JONES - weakened leaving the final bend.
MARCOOLA - broke with 450 metres to run losing its chance. Driver C Ford admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) in that he drove carelessly when allowing his runner to strike the sulky wheel of HABIBI INTA causing his horse to break. After hearing submissions on penalty, the JCA imposed a fine of $300. A post-race veterinary examination of MARCOOLA revealed no abnormalities.
Race 3   BALCAIRN STOCKFEEDS MOBILE PACE
GOTTAGETTABEER - checked shortly after the start and locked wheels losing ground. Weakened from the 900 metres. Stewards withheld authorisation of placings until it was confirmed that GOTTAGETTABEER had not been checked prior to the start.
KHAL DROGO - broke shortly after the start locking wheels with GOTTAGETTABEER losing considerable ground and was retired from the race. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
REFLECTIONSOFMYLIFE - weakened considerably from the 700 metres. Co-trainer/driver T Chmiel reported the filly had been making abnormal breathing noises during the running. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Mr Chmiel advised he would have his own veterinarian examine the filly in the coming days. A veterinary clearance is required prior to resuming.
I CAN REMEMBER - out of position at the start. Placed on the unruly for future mobile starts. Raced wide around the first bend. Weakened from the 900 metres. Trainer I Cameron advised the mare would be retired from racing.
VALIANT CHARGER - hung inwards before weakening from the 1100 metres and was retired from the race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing performance.
JR FULHAM - late scratching on Veterinary advice at 11.35am due to nasal discharge. A veterinary clearance is required prior to resuming.
JUST MICHAEL - checked in the early stages.
CONQUISTADOR - inconvenienced in the early stages.
KATIE DALY - weakened from the 800 metres.
COMFORTABLY NUMB - improved wide without cover from the 1300 metres.
WOODLEA AC - inconvenienced by I CAN REMEMBER late in the score up and was out of position in consequence.
Co-Trainer T Chmiel advised Stewards on 17 April that REFLECTIONSOFMYLIFE has had a wind operation since racing at Rangiora on 14 April.
Race 4   KOTARE DOWNS RANGIORA 3YO STAKES (MOBILE PACE)
CHILLER BAY - weakened final bend. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an elevated heart rate. The connections advised they would have their own veterinarian examine the gelding in the coming days. Stewards will follow up the recovery of CHILLER BAY.
GRAN CHICO - raced wide around the first bend.
Trainer P Robertson advised Stewards on 22 April that CHILLER BAY has been sent for a spell.
Race 5   JD & EA PROPERTIES LTD MOBILE PACE
MYBOYLOLLIEPOP - raced wide around the first bend. Briefly locked wheels with GLENGARRY KNIGHT which hung inwards early in the home straight.
GLENGARRY KNIGHT - hung inwards early in the home straight briefly locking wheels with MYBOYLOLLIEPOP.
OHOKA MATTY - held up by a weakening runner passing the 600 metres. Again held up on the final bend.
SANTANNA LAD - held up on the final bend.
JAFA KITTEN - over-raced in the score up and was back slightly at the start. Continued to over-raced through the middle stages.
ADAM PATRON - driver R May reported he was unable to activate the sliding blinds due to the cord breaking.
GOTTA FUTURE - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver J Dunn.
GOOD ON YA KIWI - held up on the final bend.
Race 6   CANTERBURY PRINT SERVICE FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE
TAKEMYBREATHAWAY - over-raced through the middle stages. Weakened from the 400 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
WITH THE BAND - held up on the final bend.
DONEGAL ART CHOKIN - raced wide around the first bend and was then forced wider on the track passing the 1500 metres.
MAD LU LI - raced wide without cover from the 1100 metres.
KOTARE YOLANDE - hung outwards in the score up and was out of position at the candy pole. Shifted out near the 1500 metres forcing DONEGAL ART CHOKIN to race wider on the track. Driver J Dunn admitted a breach of the Push Out Rule and after hearing penalty submissions, the JCA imposed a fine of $200. Weakened final bend. A post-race veterinary examination of KOTARE YOLANDE revealed no abnormalities.
BUBBLED UP - over-raced middle stages. Held up early stages of the run home.
SWEET LORESS - held up early stages of the run home.
MOSSDALE ART - hung inwards passing the 100 metres with driver B Hope having to straighten the filly.
Race 7   AIRPARK CANTERBURY RANGIORA CLASSIC (MOBILE PACE)
FORGOTTEN HIGHWAY - broke at the start losing several lengths. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
ASHLEY LOCAZ - shifted out near the 1600 metres. Driver T Williams defended a breach of the Push Out Rule which alleged he forced A G'S WHITE SOCKS to race wider on the track near the 1600 metres. After viewing the replays and hearing evidence, the JCA dismissed the charge.
HAIL CHRISTIAN - held up early stages of the run home.
A G'S WHITE SOCKS - over-raced early stages when being restrained. Forced wider on the track near the 1600 metres before being restrained to obtain cover.
THEFIXER - raced wide early stages.
Race 8   GULLIVER & TYLER HANDICAP TROT
TAKE AFTER ME - broke at the start.
MR FAHRENHEIT - held up early and middle stages of the run home.
IZMOK - trotted roughly in the home straight.
TOKYO JOE - lay outwards passing the 100 metres.
MISSIE CASTLETON - shifted up the track passing the 2100 metres.
CLIFDEN CLOWERS - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start.
WE'LL MEET AGAIN - held up early and middle stages of the run home.
RENEZMAE - trotted roughly at various stages during the running. Raced wide final bend.
TRICK STAR - held up in the home straight. Had to be steadied passing the 100 metres when briefly placed in restricted room.
Race 9   MORRISON CARS HANDICAP PACE
There was a delay to the start due to the 30 metre barrier strand breaking.
GO DAVEY - broke briefly at the start.
SAMSKARA - over-raced through the middle stages.
SMOKIN BY - broke at the start losing considerable ground. When questioned regarding the performance, driver N Williamson advised the horse had been unable to improve in the home straight after losing too much ground at the start.
MIKEY MAGUIRE - shifted inwards in the home straight having to be straightened passing the 100 metres. Driver S Smolenski was cautioned for the manner he used his whip in the run home. Underwent a veterinary examination after escaping driverless and falling on return to the assembly area. This examination revealed no abnormalities other than a superficial scratch to the right stifle. Mr Smolenski was unharmed in this incident.
Race 10   TRIPRO PROJECT MANAGEMENT MOBILE PACE
OHOKA ACHILLES - held up final bend.
SOUNDS LIKA GEM - held up final bend.
PAUL'S VERDICT - weakened from the 500 metres.
PATS DRAGON - held up final bend.
BORN TO RUN - raced wide from the 1200 metres. Weakened from the 600 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery. Stewards will follow up with trainer M Purvis in the coming days.
THREE IDEAS - back slightly at the candy pole despite the efforts of driver R May.
BRINGITONHOME - out of position at the candy pole and start. Driver R Close was issued with a warning.
Trainer M Purvis advised Stewards on 17 April that BORN TO RUN was found to have a high white blood cell count after racing at Rangiora on 14 April with this now being treated.
