When questioned regarding the performance driver R Close advised that the gelding had over-raced early and paced roughly on several occasions. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery. Connections advised they will have the gelding undergo a further veterinary examination on return to the home stable. Stewards will follow up the results. Trainer A Stuart advised Stewards on 27 December that a veterinary examination of ENOKA revealed no abnormalities and that the gelding has worked well in preparation for a resumption at Motukarara on Monday.
