| ENOKA - paced roughly for a distance passing the 750m having to be steadied. Weakened final bend. The murphy blind shifted during the running. When questioned regarding the performance driver R Close advised that the gelding had over-raced early and paced roughly on several occasions. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery. Connections advised they will have the gelding undergo a further veterinary examination on return to the home stable. Stewards will follow up the results. | |

Stewards lodged a protest against this runner's 3rd placing under Rule 870(5) alleging the gelding was in a break as it reached the finish line and lapped on by SEASIDE ROSE. After viewing the replays driver M Williamson did not contest the protest and ALWAYS DREAMING was relegated to 4th placing by Stewards. The breast plate broke rounding the final bend. The gear was inspected by Stewards and found to be in previously good condition. | |
