Race 1   CRAIG HEYRICK AT HARCOURTS MOBILE PACE
ENOKA - paced roughly for a distance passing the 750m having to be steadied. Weakened final bend. The murphy blind shifted during the running. When questioned regarding the performance driver R Close advised that the gelding had over-raced early and paced roughly on several occasions. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery. Connections advised they will have the gelding undergo a further veterinary examination on return to the home stable. Stewards will follow up the results.
EL DRAEGO - raced wide from the 750m. Weakened final bend.
Following the running of this race the track conditions were upgraded to Good.
Race 2   QUANTUM DESIGN & PRINT MOBILE PACE
HAROLD HANOVER - broke shortly after the start losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Held up by a weakening runner near the 800m. The over-check became detached during the running. Authorisation of this runners 4th placing was withheld until Stewards had reviewed the footage and were satisfied the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation in the early stages.
CRUISING FONTANA - weakened from the 800m hampering a trailing runner. The two minute strap became detached during the running. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. A warning was placed on the racing performance of the gelding.
VINCHETTO - lay out and paced roughly in the score up and was out of position at the start. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion from a mobile start prior to resuming.
HAZER - raced wide early.
MR PRESIDENT - raced wide early.
RAKERO LIGHTNING - hung inwards and struck a track marker when weakening final bend. The over-check became detached during the running.
RIGHTAZZ - broke in the score up losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
Race 3   FORKLIFTS NZ LTD MOBILE TROT
KINGS CHOICE - trotted roughly first bend losing ground. Again trotted roughly final bend.
BECKY'S GIRL - broke passing the 1500m losing considerable ground. Authorisation of this runner's 3rd placing was withheld until Stewards had reviewed the footage and were satisfied the filly had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation.
DELPHYNE - hung inwards over the concluding stages placing driver B Orange at a disadvantage.
Race 4   DIAMOND CREEK / SBSR ROBIN DUNDEE CROWN MARES MOBILE PACE
LYDAH VALLEY - weakened from the 900m. When questioned regarding the performance driver R Close could offer no tangible reason. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
ALWAYS A MENACE - weakened final bend.
ITSALLABOUTTHEMONEY - broke in the score up losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
Race 5   SHAW BUILDING MOBILE PACE
MAGNETIC JIM D - raced wide early.
BELUGA - raced wide early.
SPORTY CHARLIE - held up final bend and early stages of the run home. Driver B Morris reported he did not activate the removable deafeners in consequence.
DRAGON POWER - weakened from the 600m. When questioned regarding the performance driver S O'Reilly advised that although the gelding had paced roughly on several occasions and was racing up in grade today she was disappointed with the effort.
BROOKIES PLAYER - raced four wide without cover from the 600m.
RAKAMICK - over-raced through the early and middle stages. Lay inwards when improving three wide from the 1300m and continued to race wide thereafter.
TRANSONIC - hung inwards and paced roughly when improving to the parked position near the 1500m.
WARD LAMON - held up early stages of the run home.
TUA LIPA - held up leaving the final bend and early stages of the run home.
Race 6   McKNIGHT & BROWN HANDICAP TROT
B D HALL - broke first bend losing ground. Held up final bend. Authorisation of this runner's 4th placing was withheld until Stewards had reviewed the footage and were satisfied the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation in the early stages.
ERROL D - broke at the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
SEE NO EVIL - broke first bend losing considerable ground.
PONTIFF - fractious prior to the start and required the assistance of a Starting Attendant. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Broke passing the 1200m losing all chance. A warning was also placed on the racing record of the gelding.
MUSCLE DASH - back from the Unruly position at the start. Weakened from the 700m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
MAD JACK - broke first bend losing considerable ground. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming. Trotted roughly near the 1200m losing ground.
DEL'S CREATION - broke shortly after the start losing all chance.
MIXED FAITH - broke passing the 100m losing its chance. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination at the request of trainer/driver B Williamson which revealed a laceration to right front pastern which was treated. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance prior to resuming.
Race 7   MURRAY BROWN - BEAUDIENE BAD BABE 2YO FILLIES MOBILE PACE
B B CRUNCH - held up rounding the final bend.
MANUKA BAY - late scratching on veterinary advice at 10.02am.
PRINCESS ALIA - weakened final bend.
SKINNY DIPPIN - over-raced when leading in the middle stages.
PRINCESS RENEE - over-raced for a distance near the 1400m. Attempted to improve wide from the 1300m before weakening from the 700m. When questioned regarding the performance driver B Orange could offer no tangible reason. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a high heart rate and slow recovery. Co-trainers H & A Cullen advised they will have the filly undergo a further veterinary examination on return to the home stable. Stewards will follow up the results.
Race 8   CANADA STAKES 3YO FILLIES MOBILE PACE
JUST LIKE JAGGER - fractious prior to the score up requiring the assistance of a Starting Attendant and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly. Paced roughly first bend.
NOTHING BUT YOU - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room throughout the run home.
TOSANA - lay outwards near the 300m becoming awkwardly placed when an outside runner lay inwards simultaneously and struck the sulky wheel of that runner.
Race 9   BRENDAN FRANKS FARRIER DAVID MOSS STAKES (HANDICAP TROT)
PRINCESS SADIE - held up leaving the final bend and early stages of the run home.
JIMMY CARTER - broke after 140m losing all chance.
FRANCO JOSIAH - weakened leaving the final bend.
MR LOVE - lay inwards leaving the final bend despite the efforts of driver B Orange.
Race 10   ASCOT PARK HOTEL INVERCARGILL CUP (HANDICAP PACE)
MACANDREW AVIATOR - lay outwards and weakened rounding the final bend.
THE BIG LEBOWSKI - over-raced middle stages. Weakened from the 700m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
WAG STAR - tangled away.
AMERICAN ME - weakened final bend.
REPUBLICAN PARTY - pre-race warmed. Lay outwards just prior to the start.
Race 11   SHEET METALCRAFT LTD MOBILE PACE
OFF THE CANVAS - over-raced in the middle stages causing driver C Ferguson some difficulty.
PALLADIUM - lay outwards on the bend near the 1900m.
SIDE HUSTLE - lay outwards final bend.
SONOFAMISTERY - retired from the event near the 900m after the crupper shifted placing driver T Williams in some difficulty after the gear had been adjusted at the start. Stewards inspected the gear which was found to be in previously good condition with co-trainers S and A Telfer deemed not to be at fault.
Race 12   McEWAN BLOODSTOCK WAYNE (OX) MCEWAN MEMORIAL MOBILE PACE
HERB - weakened final bend.
JOVIAL JAY - weakened final bend.
TABASCO - held up by a weakening runner final bend.
STEP IT UP A NOTCH - over-raced middle stages when leading.
HALEY JACCKA - raced wide early.
J T BOE - pre-race warmed. Raced wide from the 1100m. Driver T Williams reported he did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
ALWAYS DREAMING - pre-race warmed. Broke inside the final 50m losing ground and failed to settle. Stewards lodged a protest against this runner's 3rd placing under Rule 870(5) alleging the gelding was in a break as it reached the finish line and lapped on by SEASIDE ROSE. After viewing the replays driver M Williamson did not contest the protest and ALWAYS DREAMING was relegated to 4th placing by Stewards. The breast plate broke rounding the final bend. The gear was inspected by Stewards and found to be in previously good condition.
SEASIDE ROSE - over-raced early stages. Raced wide from the 1000m.
