A REASON TO FIGHT - broke for a considerable distance racing into the first bend and lost ground after striking the sulky wheel of OLIVER which shifted inwards when insufficiently clear. Authorisation of 4th placing was withheld until Stewards had viewed the replays and spoken to driver S McNally who confirmed his horse had broken as a result of suffering interference. After considering the matter which was evident on the replays, Stewards exercised discretion in accordance with the Breaking Horses Regulation by not disqualifying the horse from the race. OLIVER - held up final bend. Trotted roughly in the run home and was unable to be fully driven out. Driver C DeFilippi admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) in that he drove carelessly racing into the first bend by shifting inwards when insufficiently clear of A REASON TO FIGHT which was checked and broke losing ground. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty, the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr DeFilippi's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing today up to and including 14 June 2024 (3 days). | |||||||||||
