A warning was placed on the colt's racing manners however notwithstanding this Mr Williamson was reminded of his obligations given similar circumstances in the future. Mr Williamson advised that this runner had been contacting its wheel discs causing it to over-race and that Trainer K Bublitz would be making corrective gear change prior to resuming.

Driver A Sanderson was questioned regarding an incident late in the run home when his runner was placed in restricted room and contacted the sulky of BETTER ECLIPSE with its near hind. It was established that there was movement from an inside and outside runners and blame could not be solely attributed to any individual horse or driver. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. An investigation was opened and adjourned into the manner in which Mr Sanderson used his whip on the final turn. BETTER ECLIPSE - raced wide with cover from the 1000m before being shifted four wide near the 700m. Driver G Sugars admitted a charge under Rule 869(3)(b) in that he allowed his gelding to shift inwards approaching the 500m checking SOONER THE BETTOR which broke losing all chance. After hearing the relative evidence and viewing the replays the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Sugars' Driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on the 27 April up to and including 2 May 2024 (5 days).
