		INDISPOSED - over raced when being restrained passing the 1500m and weakened over the concluding stages. When questioned regarding the performance, driver M Hay advised that, in his opinion, the gelding was not suited by the strong early tempo and had commenced to over-race while he was attempting to obtain cover, which had taken its toll over the final stages. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormality.

		FEAR THE DIVA - driver S Doody admitted a charge under Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion early in the run home. After viewing replays and considering submissions on penalty the Adjudicator imposed a suspension of Mr Doody's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on 9 April up to and including 30 April 2026 (4 days).

		GOTTA ELECT BILL - Stewards opened an investigation into the manner in which driver M Hay used his whip over the initial stages of the run home. Stewards concluded their investigation into the manner in which driver M Hay (GOTTA ELECT BILL) used his whip over the concluding stages of the event. In assessing the matter, Stewards reviewed all available race footage and carefully considered the explanations and submissions provided by Mr. Hay. After giving due consideration to all of the evidence, Stewards determined that no further action was warranted in the circumstances. However, Stewards did take the opportunity to remind Mr. Hay of his obligations under the Rules in relation to the use of the whip.

		HE'S TOUGH - the hood of the removable deafeners became detached shortly after the start. Raced keenly in the parked position through the middle stages. Weakened abruptly from the 500m. When questioned regarding the performance driver A Poutama advised that despite the gelding over-racing through the middle stages he could offer no tangible excuse for the disappointing run. A post-race Veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormality. Stewards will follow up the recovery of HE'S TOUGH with connections prior to the second day. Stewards conducted a follow-up with trainer C Garlick (HE'S TOUGH), who reported that the gelding had come through its recent run in good order and had recovered well however, upon consideration, he elected not to start the gelding at tonight's meeting. He also advised that the gelding will no longer continue to race from his stable.
