The matter was adjourned to be heard at the Auckland Trotting Club meeting on the 15 March due to Mr Abernethy having travel commitments. The adjourned enquiry to consider a charge against Driver J Abernethy (HA'PENNY) under Rule 869(2) and the Whip & Rein Regulations, was reconvened at tonight's meeting. Mr Abernethy admitted the breach of using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home. After viewing the replays and hearing penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $250.
