After viewing the replays the connections did not contest the protest and KING OF DIAMONDS was relegated to 2nd placing by the Stewards. SON OF PATRICK - finished 2nd but promoted to 1st placing after KING OF DIAMONDS broke over the concluding stages and was in a gallop across the finish line and lapped on.

Trainer M Gibbs advised Stewards on 03 January that blood tests taken from BET ON POLLY had shown no irregularity and that he could only attribute the disappointing performance to the mare not handling the track conditions.
