When spoken to regarding the performance of favoured runner trainer/driver N Williamson advised that the race was not run to suit adding he was not disappointed with the effort.
FLYING WITHOUT WINGS - driver N Williamson reported he did not release the removable deafeners or activate the sliding blinds due to having the field covered. Cleared from the Unruly for future standing starts.
ONE MHOR FOR HEATHER - broke at the start and then was checked by a breaking runner while in a break having to take evasive action with the trailing TE RAPA being hampered losing all chance.
BETTER BE WATCHING - raced wide early. Returned to the birdcage enclosure with blood present on the off side front leg. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a superficial wound which did not require treatment.
ASK ME LOU - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after the sulky was struck by another horse and required replacing, with the mare being cleared to start. Weakened final bend.
SUPERFAST - lay outwards at various stages causing driver C Dalgety difficulty. Checked by an outside runner and broke leaving the final bend hampering trailing runners, losing ground.
SUPERFAST - raced wide from the 1100m. Driver C Dalgety reported he was unable to activate the removable deafeners due to the cord breaking. The gear was inspected and found to be in previously good condition.
SUPERFAST - when asked to comment on the improved performance trainer B Norman advised that the mare has been racing without luck in recent starts and was aided by a positive drive today.
HALEY ROBYN - raced wide from the 800m. When asked to comment on the performance trainer/driver M Williamson advised the mare had worked hard to get into the race and this had taken its toll over the concluding stages.
RAKNRUIN - over-raced middle stages. Again over-raced rounding the final bend and became awkwardly placed close to the sulky of THE HIGHLANDER and broke losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the filly.
RAKNRUIN - hampered by a breaking runner racing into the first bend. Over-raced early and middle stages. Held up in the run home with driver B Barclay reporting he did not activate the removable deafeners in consequence. Stewards questioned Mr Barclay regarding the tactics he adopted, in particular his decision to shift inwards near the 300m resulting in his runner being held up for clear racing room. Mr Barclay explained that when he attempted to shift wider rounding the final bend the filly had locked on the outside rein causing him difficulty, adding he was reluctant to persist due to the filly breaking in similar circumstances in previous starts. Stewards noted Mr Barclay's comments.
RAKNRUIN - broke rounding the first bend losing ground. Stood down to trial on one occasion to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to resuming. Weakened final bend. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a high heart rate. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.

NO ADDED SUGAR - raced wider on the track near the 1400m when JENNY GUMP shifted ground outwards. After viewing replays, it was established that driver S Walkinshaw (JENNY GUMP) had commenced his outwards movement prior to NO ADDED SUGAR reaching his sulky wheel, accordingly no further action was required. Placed in restricted room by an inside runner rounding the final bend and breaking near the 300m then locked sulky wheels with HAZER leaving the final bend and losing all chance.

After viewing the replays and hearing the relative evidence Stewards could not solely attribute blame to any one horse or driver. Notwithstanding this Mr Herlihy and Mr Abernethy were reminded of their obligations given similar circumstances in the future. In considering this matter Stewards took into account that Mr Herlihy had been placed at a disadvantage after losing his safety glasses near the 1600m as well as the outward movement of HENRIK LUNDQVIST contributing to the incident.

MAGIC SIGN - locked sulky wheels briefly with EMERALD ABBEY near the 300m. Stewards spoke with drivers H Douglas (MAGIC SIGN) and P Hunter (EMERALD ABBEY) where it was established that MAGIC SIGN had attempted to shift EMERALD ABBEY wider on the track however MAGIC SIGN had hung outwards and EMERALD ABBEY was slow react to the movement. After viewing the films Stewards could not apportion blame to any one driver or horse and accordingly the matter was taken no further.
SPORTY CHARLIE - hampered by the weakening MATAURA B B from the 600m and struck the sulky wheel of that runner numerous times when placed in restricted room.

LOU'S DEAL - weakened over the concluding stages hampering a trailing runner. When asked to comment on the performance of the favoured runner driver S Ottley advised she was disappointed and could offer no tangible explanation.
A false start was declared when ROBYNS HUSTLER broke in the score up checking trailing runners. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Driver M Hill elected to remain in his allotted barrier position for the restart.
GEMS DELIGHT - lay inwards and broke racing into the first bend when wide on the track, losing ground. Lay inwards again leaving the final bend despite the efforts of driver B Orange checking an inside runner. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
GEMS DELIGHT - broke racing into the first bend hampering outside runners. Stood down to trial on one occasion to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to resuming. Held up over the concluding stages.
GEMS DELIGHT - broke after 150m hampering a trailing runner. Broke again briefly near the 200m hampering a trailing runner. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
TUNEINSPORTSFANS - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination due to not having raced for a considerable period of time and was cleared to start. Raced wide with cover throughout.
TUNEINSPORTSFANS - when questioned regarding the improved performance trainer T Stratford stated that the gelding had been unlucky at its previous start, received a run to suit today and appreciates racing on the grass.
THE WULVER - over-raced near the 700m and was awkwardly placed to the inside of MR PRESIDENT and contacted the sulky wheel of that runner. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
THE WULVER - over-raced at various stages during the running. Held up final bend and then had difficulty obtaining clear racing room throughout the run home. Driver S Ottley reported she did not activate the sliding blinds or release the removable deafeners in consequence.

A false start was declared when STRAIGHT FLUSH broke in the score up hampering LILAC LUXURY which was unable to take up its allocated position. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. MATAURA B B - broke passing the 800m losing ground. Weakened over the concluding stages. Stewards spoke with drivers J Cox (MATAURA B B) and M Hurrell (NYLA) regarding the incident near the 800m where MATAURA B B broke. It was established that when Mr Hurrell pushed Mr Cox wider on the track at this stage, MATAURA B B had lay in simultaneously to NYLA laying out with both drivers immediately taking corrective action, however the sulky wheel of NYLA touched the near hind leg of MATAURA B B which broke in consequence. After interviewing both drivers and reviewing the footage Stewards could not apportion fault to any one horse or driver and accordingly took the matter no further.

BROOKIES PLAYER - swung sideways as the start was effected hampering a trailing runner and was then slow over the early stages losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
BROOKIES PLAYER - weakened from the 800m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding had suffered an atrial fibrillation. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance including the results of an ECG before completing one trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to resuming.
MOLLY BELWIN - over-raced throughout. Weakened final bend. When asked to comment driver S Ottley advised the filly had raced fiercely and may have choked down. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormality.
BEACH DAY - forced wider on the track near the 300m. Following the race Stewards spoke with driver M Hurrell who advised he did not wish to proceed with a protest against 1st placing being awarded to JUDAQUE.
MR CASH MAN - broke briefly at the start losing ground. Driver M Williamson was spoken to advisedly for the manner he drove near the 200m when shifting outwards and briefly placing an outside runner in restricted room.
MR CASH MAN - permission was granted for the gelding to race with alternative colours. Broke in the score up losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
MR CASH MAN - trainer J Morrison was issued a warning for presenting the gelding to race without the notified sliding blinds. Crowded by an outside runner leaving the final bend having to be steadied.
A false start was declared when HALEY JACCKA broke in the score up hampering second line runners. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly. Driver B Barclay elected to start from the Unruly position for the restart where HALEY JACCKA will remain for future mobile starts.
