ULTIMATE MACH - hung outwards in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Lay in rounding the final bend. Driver J Cox reported he was unable to fully activate the removable deafeners due to the cord becoming entangled. Mr Cox advised he would be recommending gear changes.

A post-race veterinary examination revealed a high heart rate. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.

RACIE DALE - underwent a pre-race Veterinary examination and was cleared to start.

RACIE DALE - raced greenly and then paced roughly losing ground, when initially trying to shift the rapidly improving PACIFIC ARC which lay inwards, wider on the track near the 450m. Stewards spoke with drivers S Walkinshaw (RACIE DALE) and N Williamson (PACIFIC ARC) regarding this incident. After hearing from both drivers and viewing the films Stewards could not apportion blame to any one horse or driver and accordingly took the matter no further. Lay outwards and raced in restricted room over the concluding stages.

Trainer C Laurenson also advised he was disappointed with the effort and could offer no explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormality.

HE'S ROBYN - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver M Hill. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Lost contact with the field for a distance from the 700m.

HE'S ROBYN - broke rounding the first bend and shifted out hampering trailing runners. Stood down to complete one trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to resuming. Broke again passing the 800m losing all chance.
