MIRACULOUS - weakened rounding the final bend. When questioned regarding the performance driver B Barclay advised the gelding had raced lethargically throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a high heart rate. Trainer N Williamson reported he will have blood tests conducted on the gelding which Stewards will follow up.

SHEPHERDS DELIGHT - when questioned regarding the improved performance the connections advised the gelding was racing down in grade from recent starts and has had a fetlock treated as notified. They added the gelding is a fast beginner and was suited to the standing start and the distance of today's race.

MISTY BLUE - paced roughly shortly after the start. Hampered near the 1100m. Broke near the 400m when racing to the outside of WINNYZBACK checking a trailing runner losing all chance. Stewards questioned drivers S Tomlinson (MISTY BLUE) and S Thornley (WINNYZBACK) regarding this incident where it was established that Mr Thornley had shifted his runner wider on the track however MISTY BLUE had over-reacted to being forced outwards. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.

BETTERTHANCASH - lay inwards in the run home briefly crowding an inside runner near the 100m. Stewards questioned driver R Close regarding this incident who advised the gelding had proved difficult to steer over the concluding stages and he would be recommending gear changes. Notwithstanding this Mr Close was advised to make a greater effort to correct his runner and maintain a straight course in the run home.

MIKI KNOWS - over-raced and became awkwardly placed close to the sulky of HARRISON JOHN near the 1200m before breaking losing all chance and hampering a trailing runner after there was a slight easing of the pace when MACANDREW AVIATOR was restrained to obtain cover when BEACH BALL progressed forward to lead. After speaking to drivers R Close (MIKI KNOWS) and M Williamson (MACANDREW AVIATOR) and viewing replays Stewards were unable to apportion blame to either driver or horse and took the matter no further.
