Raced keenly racing into the first bend and broke briefly when being steadied. Weakened from the 500m hampering a trailing runner. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a high heart rate and slow recovery. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.

WARD LAMON - shifted in under pressure over the concluding stages. Driver K Larsen admitted a charge under Rule 869(3)(b) that he drove carelessly near the 1200m when allowing his horse to make contact with the near side sulky wheel of TROJAN PRINCESS resulting in the tyre puncturing and coming off the rim. After viewing replays and considering submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $250.
