When questioned regarding the performance Mrs Buckland-Stevens advised the gelding had got further back than anticipated in the running due to only having moderate gate speed however had been pleased with the performance once obtaining clear racing room in the home straight.

When questioned regarding the performance driver O Kite advised that although the gelding was fresh up and had worked hard early he was still disappointed with the effort given the horse's preparation leading into the meeting. HAZER - attempted to shift off the back of a weakening runner leaving the back straight and trailed the sulky wheel for a distance which resulted in a trailing runner being placed in restricted room near the 500m. Driver B Williamson was warned for half carting. Hampered by a weakening runner rounding the final bend and then hung outwards in the run home with Mr Williamson confirming when questioned that he did not release the removable deafeners as a consequence.
