SHERWOOD MAGGIE - hung outwards and paced roughly final bend. Stewards questioned driver J Cox regarding the tactics he adopted for a distance near the 700m, in particular electing to race on the marker line when the opportunity existed to shift out and race in the running line. Mr Cox explained that the mare had locked on one rein and that RAKNRUIN which he was trailing was still travelling well at that stage. Mr Cox further added that after working hard early he was of the opinion his horse was best saved as late as possible in an attempt to find the line. Stewards noted Mr Cox's explanation.

Driver K Green admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that she used her whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Miss Green's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on 17 November up to and including 27 November 2024 (3 days).

SINAI SERMON - weakened early in the run home. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. When questioned regarding the tactics he adopted during the running, driver C Dalgety advised that after obtaining cover in the early stages his horse had begun to over-race so he elected to improve forward near the 1500m in an attempt to obtain the lead. SINAI SERMON then commenced to lay inwards near the 1200m when attempting to cross the pace-making FLYING BIRD and consequently despite his efforts he had been unable to improve to that position. Mr Dalgety added that when he became aware that FLYING BIRD was under pressure near the 600m he felt his best option was to improve forward again in an attempt to cross to the marker line. After considering his explanation Stewards were satisfied Mr Dalgety's tactics were not unreasonable in the circumstances and took the matter no further.

Miss Holbrough, assisted by senior driver R May, admitted a charge under Rule 869(4) and the Passing Lane Regulations in that she allowed her runner to shift into the passing lane denying a trailing runner full access. After viewing replays and considering submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Miss Holbrough's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on 9 March up to and including 15 March 2025, 3 days.
