STILLYOURSHOT - over-raced when being restrained to take cover in the early stages. When asked to comment on the improved performance trainer B Gray advised the gelding had received a run to suit on its preferred grit surface and also benefitted from being saved for one run.
MR CASH MAN - lay inwards rounding the final bend contacting track markers. Held up final bend and again over the latter stages of the run home with driver M Williamson reporting he did not release the removable deafeners in consequence.
MR CASH MAN - broke briefly at the start losing ground. Driver M Williamson was spoken to advisedly for the manner he drove near the 200m when shifting outwards and briefly placing an outside runner in restricted room.
MR CASH MAN - permission was granted for the gelding to race with alternative colours. Broke in the score up losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
A false start was declared when HALEY JACCKA broke in the score up hampering second line runners. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly. Driver B Barclay elected to start from the Unruly position for the restart where HALEY JACCKA will remain for future mobile starts.
MIGHTYFLYIN SUPASTAR - raced greenly into the first bend. Lay in and paced roughly near the 500m contacting the sulky of HUKI FELLA and lost ground in consequence. When asked to comment on the performance driver M Hurrell stated he had steering issues with the gelding throughout the race and he would be recommending gear changes.
HUKI FELLA - underwent a pre-race Veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Hampered by a breaking runner rounding the first bend. Weakened from the 500m hampering a trailing runner. Stewards investigated a perceived breach of the Push Out Rule when HUKI FELLA raced wider on the track near the 1700m when SWEET SOUTHERN LASS shifted ground outwards. After hearing initial evidence from drivers M Hurrell and B Williamson (SWEET SOUTHERN LASS) and viewing the replays Stewards adjourned the matter sine die due to the drivers having to leave the course with travel commitments. When questioned regarding the performance driver M Hurrell advised that after being hampered rounding the first bend and racing wider on the track near the 1700m the gelding had then worked hard to obtain the parked position with the effort taking its toll over the concluding stages, adding he was not disappointed with the run. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormality.
