MIXED FAITH - lay in and struck track markers near the 1500m and again near the 300m. Stewards questioned driver B Williamson regarding his apparent lack of vigour in the run home. After taking initial evidence Stewards opened and adjourned an enquiry for further consideration. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

Stewards lodged a protest under Rule 870(5) against 2nd placing being awarded alleging the gelding was lapped on by AROHA KENNY, THE BLOSS and MISSALYSSA at the finish. After viewing the replays driver B Williamson did not contest the protest and MIXED FAITH was relegated to 5th placing by the Stewards.

After viewing replays and considering submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $300.

Stood down for the mandatory period of 30 days with connections advised a veterinary clearance including the results of an endoscopic examination prior to completing a satisfactory trial would be required prior to resuming.
