When questioned regarding this Mr Hurrell advised that he had difficulty steering the gelding throughout and he had recommended gear changes to connections. Stewards lodged a protest against 4th placing being awarded under Rule 870(3) and the Breaking Horses Regulation alleging the mare had broken in excess of 150m in the early stages. After viewing the replays connections did not contest the protest and ALDEBARAN CRYSTAL was disqualified by the Stewards.
