Stewards spoke with drivers B Orange (IMPERIAL LAZ) and R Austin (LA BAMBA) regarding the incident near the 800m where it was established IMPERIAL LAZ was laying in with no driver deemed to be at fault.

When questioned regarding the performance driver B Butt advised he was disappointed with the effort and could offer no explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery. Mr Butt advised he will have blood tests taken from the gelding in the coming days which Stewards will follow up.
