Mr House explained that at the time he shifted inwards ALMIGHTY CLEVER which he was trailing was under pressure and believed it was his best option to shift inwards in an attempt to save ground instead of being forced to race wider. After considering Mr House's explanation and viewing the replays, Stewards were satisfied his decision at the time was not unreasonable and took the matter no further.

Driver M House admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr House's Amateur driver's licence from the conclusion of racing today up to and including 6 August 2024 (6 weeks).

Underwent a post-race Veterinary examination at the request of connections which revealed the gelding to have a minor laceration to the right hind fetlock which has been treated. Connections were advised FORTY WIVES was stood down pending a Veterinary clearance prior to resuming.

GET KRAKEN - shifted inwards near the 500m when insufficiently clear of FOVEAUX GAMBLER which was checked and broke with the trailing FORTY WIVES also being checked and breaking. Sustained a punctured sulky tyre in this incident and was retired from the race. Driver M Love admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) in that he drove carelessly when shifting ground and after viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Love's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing today up to and including 17 March 2024 (6 weeks).
