VERTIGO - weakened final bend. When questioned regarding the performance driver G Smith advised he was disappointed with the effort and could offer no explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days. Mr Smith was issued a warning for the manner in which he drove shortly after the start when crowding an inside runner.

MIXED FAITH - hung inwards rounding the first bend striking a track marker. Held up final bend. Trotted roughly and broke just prior to the finish line. Stewards lodged a protest under Rule 870(5) against 2nd placing being awarded alleging the gelding was lapped on by AROHA KENNY, THE BLOSS and MISSALYSSA at the finish. After viewing the replays driver B Williamson did not contest the protest and MIXED FAITH was relegated to 5th placing by the Stewards.

A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery. Connections also advised the mare will be further examined in the coming days and Stewards will follow up the results.

Connections advised they will have blood tests taken from the mare in the coming days. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance prior to resuming.
