Junior driver M Holbrough was issued a $100 Minor Infringement Notice for failing to come up into position. In taking this course of action Stewards were mindful of Miss Holbrough's recent record in relation to this rule.

SWIFT DREAM - the off hind bandage came adrift near the 700m. Stewards viewed the bandage following the race and were satisfied that all reasonable measures had been taken to secure it and accordingly no further action was deemed necessary.

SWIFT DREAM - cast a front plate in the preliminary with the other front plate being removed prior to the start. Lay out rounding the final bend. When questioned regarding the performance driver T Stratford advised that the gelding had raced greenly during the running and briefly dropped the bit near the 900m then lay out abruptly on the final bend when he released the removable deafeners. Driver T Stratford was warned for using his whip free of the rein in the run home.

BAFFLED - the boring pole was removed prior to the start after warming up unfavourably. Driver R Harrison advised the filly had trotted roughly at various stages in the run home. When questioned regarding the performance connections advised they were not disappointed with the effort after racing up in grade from its last start. Miss Harrison was shown the replay and spoken to advisedly to ensure she does not allow her horse to shift wider on the track leaving the final bend.

BAFFLED - authorisation of 1st placing being awarded to BAFFLED (R Harrison) was withheld until Stewards had spoken to driver J Curtin (TILTHESUNSETS) placed 4th, who confirmed that despite not being given full opportunity to improve in the passing lane late in the run home his chances of finishing in a higher placing had not been affected and he did not wish to proceed with a protest. Junior driver R Harrison (assisted by J Dunn) was shown the replay and despite the filly hanging inwards causing her difficulty she was issued a warning to make a better effort to maintain a straight course in the run home and leave the passing lane clear for trailing runners. The connections advised they would be making gear changes prior to the filly's next start.

Driver B Butt admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $500.
