A warning was placed on the racing record of the filly. Mr Chmiel was warned for shifting inwards rounding the first bend and placing an inside runner in restricted room which struck several track markers. Held up late in the run home. Mr Chmiel advised he did not activate the removable deafeners in consequence.

BROMAC TIMES - junior driver Z Meredith, assisted by HRNZ Development Co-ordinator Mr R Butt, admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Meredith's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on 24 September up to and including 8 October 2024 (4 days).

Authorisation of 1st placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the gelding had not gained any advantage when racing inside a track marker near the 100m. In reaching this decision Stewards were satisfied there had always been a clear run for ARCHIE in the passing lane. Notwithstanding this driver A Cameron was shown a replay and warned to ensure she does not allow her runner to race inside track markers.

Broke near the 200m losing all chance when awkwardly placed close to the sulky of FLYING ASHES which was weakening and FLYAWAY which had shifted in marginally. Stewards questioned drivers R McIlwrick (FLYAWAY), D Ferguson (ITSAMONEYMAKER) and J Morrison (ZIA BROMAC) regarding this and after hearing from all parties, Stewards were unable to apportion blame onto any one horse or driver and took the matter no further.
