A Request for a Ruling was lodged with the Adjudicative Committee by Stewards to determine whether RUTHERFORD had been denied a fair start. After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from Stewards and driver R Close the Adjudicative Committee declared RUTHERFORD to be a runner.

When questioned regarding the performance Mr Orange advised the horse had raced lethargically throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a high heart rate and signs of muscle tie up. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
