Driver P Nairn admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip free of the rein on one occasion and in a continuous manner in the run home. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Nairn's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing today up to and including 14 March 2025 (2 days).

Stewards questioned driver P Nairn regarding the tactics he adopted in the middle stages when electing not to shift wider on the track near the 1400m prior to being covered by an improving runner. Mr Nairn advised the gelding had trotted roughly and broken in previous starts on the track and for this reason he was reluctant to improve to the parked position due to the prevailing track conditions with a considerable distance still remaining until the finish. Stewards noted Mr Nairn's comments.

NELLIE DOYLE - shifted outwards leaving the final bend and struck the sulky wheel of MM SUNSHINE near the 300m which punctured and broke crowding an outside runner and losing ground. Driver B Orange admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) in that he drove carelessly in this incident and after viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $300.

The start was delayed after the horses had commenced coming out of the pre-race formation when there was a gear issue with ONE EL resulting in the horses which had scored up being positioned close to the gate when having to wait for ONE EL. A false start was then declared after ASPIRATIONAL DREAM broke late in the score up and shifted outwards inconveniencing an outside runner. Driver J Morrison elected to remain in his allocated barrier position for the restart.
