Junior driver S Hill, assisted by B Orange, admitted a charge under Rule 869(3)(b) in that he drove carelessly near the 400m when contacting the sulky wheel of LILAC LUXURY with the tyre puncturing in consequence. After viewing replays and considering submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Hill's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on 18 October until the conclusion of racing on 23 October 2024 (2 days).

VRILO - shifted inwards near the 1500m when insufficiently clear of THE HIGHLANDER which struck track markers and had to be restrained. Amateur driver S Manawatu admitted a breach of Rule 869(7A)(c) for causing THE HIGHLANDER to race over track markers and after viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $250.

VRILO - weakened leaving the final bend. When questioned regarding the performance driver S Ottley advised the mare had raced lethargically throughout and she was disappointed with the effort. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. The connections advised the mare would now be sent for a spell.

Returned to the stabling area with blood present on the off fore leg with a post-race veterinary examination revealing a laceration on the right front heel which was bandaged.
