CHARLIE BROWN - raced wide from the 500m. When questioned regarding the tactics he adopted in the middle stages driver J Dunn advised the gelding races best with cover and had been unable to progress forward due to the three wide line never becoming established in the back straight on the final occasion. Mr Dunn added he attempted to improve wide on the final bend however had been unable to make ground due to the fast closing sectionals.

SPEAK THE TRUTH - pre-race warmed. Raced wide with cover from 1050m. Driver A Sanderson was questioned regarding an incident late in the run home when his runner was placed in restricted room and contacted the sulky of BETTER ECLIPSE with its near hind. It was established that there was movement from an inside and outside runners and blame could not be solely attributed to any individual horse or driver.
