BET N WIN - Stewards lodged a protest against 1st placing being awarded under Rule 869(7B) alleging the gelding had gained an advantage by racing inside the final track marker prior to the passing lane. After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from Stewards and driver B Butt, the Adjudicative Committee dismissed the protest. Mr Butt admitted a breach of Rule 869(7A)(a) in that he struck the final track marker prior to the passing lane and the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $200.

When questioned regarding the performance driver M Purdon advised the horse had raced keenly in a fresh state and is best suited when able to be saved for one run. Mr Purdon further added he was satisfied with the performance given the 35m handicap and it was the horse's first start back at Addington for some time after having a spell.

MUSCLE MOUNTAIN - Driver B Hope admitted a charge under Rule 869(3)(b) in that he drove carelessly entering the first turn by shifting his gelding inwards when not sufficiently clear resulting in JUST BELIEVE being tightened down on to OSCAR BONAVENA which raced over a track marker. After viewing the replays and hearing penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committed suspended Mr Hope's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on the 5 May up to and including 15 May 2024 (5 days).
