VRILO - crossed over from its allocated starting position prior to reaching the start point. Driver S Manawatu was issued a $200 Minor Infringement Notice. Over-raced early stages. When questioned regarding the performance Mr Manawatu advised the mare races best when saved for one run however had been unable to make ground from the rear of the field.

When questioned regarding the performance trainer/driver G Smith advised he was disappointed with the effort and was unable to provide any explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a high heart rate and slow recovery with signs of muscle tie up. Stewards will follow up with Mr Smith in the coming days.

ENYA FRANCO - Junior Driver W House, who declined the assistance of a senior, admitted a charge under Rule 869(2) and the Whip & Rein Regulations in that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home. After viewing the replays and considering penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $300. Mr House reported that the mare had lay in throughout the run home causing him difficulty and that the removable deafeners had failed to activate despite his efforts.

DON'T TELL JENNY - underwent a veterinary examination prior to the restart after rearing and landing awkwardly and was cleared to start. Hampered when an inside runner shifted outwards near the 150m.

DON'T TELL JENNY - driver R Houghton defended a breach of Rule 868(3) alleging that he failed to drive the mare out to the end of the race when having a reasonable chance of finishing in 4th place. After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from Stewards and Mr Houghton the Adjudicative Committee found the charge proved and Mr Houghton's driver's licence was suspended from the conclusion of racing tonight up to and including 14 March 2025 (3 days).

After viewing replays and considering submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $400.
