LOTUS FRANCO - fractious prior to the start. Raced wide early. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 1400m. Weakened final bend. When questioned regarding the performance driver G Thornley advised the mare had hung throughout causing her difficulty. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a high respiratory rate and slow recovery. Connections advised they would have their stable veterinarian examine the horse in the coming days. Stewards will follow up the results.

SILVERLININGS - trainer D Burrows was issued a warning for presenting the mare to race without the notified blinds. Stewards questioned driver G Smith regarding the starting position of the mare. Mr Smith advised he had been hampered by REGAL SPIRIT which was being led by the Clerk of the Course as the field turned into line which resulted in him being unable to shift wider on the track to his unruly position. After viewing the replays and considering his explanation Stewards took the matter no further other than to remind Mr Smith of his obligations.

SILVERLININGS - stood on the mark and swung sideways as the start was effected checking WANNA PLAY A GAME with both drivers T Williams (SILVERLININGS) and S Ottley (WANNA PLAY A GAME) being dislodged from their respective sulkies. Authorisation of placings were withheld until Stewards had viewed replays of the start and were satisfied that the interference had occurred after the barrier had been released. Mr Williams was examined by St John personnel and cleared of injury to fulfill his remaining driving engagement.
