Driver R May defended a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) alleging he drove carelessly when shifting outwards near the 125m checking GEM N EM (C Dalgety). After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from both drivers and Stewards, the Adjudicative Committee found the charge proved and imposed a fine of $300.

LE MAJOR - raced wider briefly near the 1450m after LEO LINCOLN shifted out from the marker line. It was established that Driver P Ferguson (LEO LINCOLN) had commenced his shift prior to LE MAJOR reaching his sulky wheel and no further action was deemed necessary.

When questioned regarding the performance Driver J Abernethy advised that after losing ground near the 1750m he was then obliged to race parked outside the leader when unable to find the front with the effort taking its toll. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormality.

Paced roughly after contacting the final two track markers and racing inside the final track marker prior to the passing lane. Stewards were satisfied that no unfair advantage had been gained. Driver J Dickie admitted an associated charge under Rule 869(7A)(a). After viewing the replays and considering penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $150.
