JACCKA BAYLIS - Driver W House reported he did not activate the deafeners due to having the field covered.

JACCKA BAYLIS - held up rounding the final bend and in the early stages of the run home. Stewards questioned Junior Driver W House, who declined the assistance of a senior driver, in relation to his tactics adopted leaving the 600m when electing to remain on the back of COSMIC ANGEL prior to being covered by the improving PRESIDENT FLYNNTIN. Mr House advised at that stage he was some distance from the finish on a grass track and in his opinion the leader was still traveling comfortably and that it wasn't until near the 400m COSMIC ANGEL had commenced to weaken however he had already been covered at that stage. After considering his explanation and viewing the replays, Stewards were satisfied his actions were not unreasonable in the circumstances and took the matter no further.

KING OF DIAMONDS - shied approaching the winning post hampering outside runners then broke and continued on in a gallop across the finish line. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. Stewards lodged a protest against 1st placing being awarded to the gelding after it was lapped on by SON OF PATRICK at the finish. After viewing the replays the connections did not contest the protest and KING OF DIAMONDS was relegated to 2nd placing by the Stewards.

QUERCUS RUBRA - when questioned regarding the improved performance driver M Hay advised that he had been able to relax the mare in the preliminary as opposed to recent starts where she had become worked up and he had been able to dictate terms when leading tonight.

QUERCUS RUBRA - raced wide early stages. Driver M Hay was advised he must start wider on the track when drawn Unruly. When questioned regarding the performance Mr Hay stated the mare had failed to back up after racing on the first day.

SWEET OLIVIA - when questioned regarding the performance Driver C Hackett advised that she was satisfied with the run given the handicap and the tempo throughout.

SWEET OLIVIA - broke near the 500m losing ground. Had to shift inwards near the 100m to avoid a weakening runner. Authorisation of this runner's 4th placing was withheld until Stewards confirmed the mare had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation when in a break. Driver C Hackett advised she elected not to activate the deafeners due to the mare trotting roughly throughout the run home.

When questioned regarding the performance Driver T Mitchell stated the mare had trotted roughly throughout. Connections advised that they will be considering giving SWEET OLIVIA a short spell.
