SCOOTS - over-raced middle stages. Contacted a track marker near the 200m. Stewards opened and adjourned an investigation into this incident and also the manner in which Driver A Pyers conducted himself when leaving the Stewards room.

SCOOTS - Driver A Pyers admitted a charge under Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home. After considering submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Pyers' driver's licence from the conclusion of racing today up to and including 11 March 2025 (2 days).

WHATS UP THE HILL - lay in rounding the final turn and early stages of the run home before switching to a pace near the 70m hampering a trailing runner. Stewards lodged a protest against 4th placing being awarded under Rule 870(3) and the Breaking Horses Regulation in that the gelding was not in the correct gait for more than 50m inside the final 200m. Connections did not contest the protest and WHATS UP THE HILL was disqualified by Stewards. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners.

When questioned regarding the performance driver S Ottley could offer no explanation other than to advise she expected the mare would derive considerable benefit from the race after being freshened since its last start.

A post-race veterinary examination revealed a high heart rate and slow recovery. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
