The gelding settled quickly but was not persevered with. This gear was inspected and had found to have been in satisfactory condition. Driver T Herlihy reported that the gelding had been striking its own sulky wheel discs.

Paced roughly after contacting the final two track markers and racing inside the final track marker prior to the passing lane. Stewards were satisfied that no unfair advantage had been gained. Driver J Dickie admitted an associated charge under Rule 869(7A)(a). After viewing the replays and considering penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $150.
