When questioned regarding the performance driver G O'Reilly advised he was disappointed with the effort and could offer no explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a high heart rate and slow recovery. Co-trainer G Dunn advised he will have blood tests conducted on the gelding in the coming days and Stewards will follow up the results.

TUAREG - broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion from a mobile start prior to resuming. Broke near the 1800m and then again passing the 1300m losing its chance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a minor laceration to the near fore pastern. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.

TUAREG - slow to leave the pre-race formation. Broke rounding the first bend hampering a trailing runner losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. Driver N Delany was warned for using the whip in a continuous manner in the run home.

TUAREG - paced roughly near the 50m and then broke over the concluding stages being lapped on by ABMAN. Stewards lodged a protest under Rule 870(5) against the 4th placing being awarded alleging the gelding was lapped on at the finish. After viewing the replays connections did not contest the protest and TUAREG was relegated to 5th placing by Stewards.

ENZO - paced roughly passing the 100m and then broke briefly before shifting out hampering LA MIKI with MOENUI MISS being checked and breaking. Authorisation of this runner's 4th placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation and also that the interference to the 5th placed LA MIKI had not affected the placings. A final warning was placed on the racing manners of ENZO. A hopple middle carrier came adrift inside the final 20m and Stewards were satisfied that this was not the cause of the break but may have occurred as a result so took the matter no further.

MOENUI MISS - Driver J Abernethy was questioned with regard to his decision to leave the one/one position near the 1150m and improve to race outside the leader. Mr Abernethy stated the mare had not handled the bends well on the first day and with driver J Dickie (FINAL CHANGE) sitting back off the leaders he felt it was his best option to improve round at this stage to race handy.
