BROOKSIDE GIRL - raced wide early before crossing to the parked position near the 1500m. Stewards questioned Junior Drivers M Ranger (BROOKSIDE GIRL), assisted by S Butcher, and F Schumacher (COMMANDER LINCOLN), who elected not to have the assistance of a Senior driver, regarding an incident near the 200m when COMMANDER LINCOLN paced roughly when being shifted wider by BROOKSIDE GIRL. It was established that COMMANDER LINCOLN had been slow to react to Mr Schumacher's efforts to accommodate the shift which was carried out in an acceptable manner and no further action was deemed necessary.

SHOWTYM GIRL - Stewards lodged an information alleging Driver N Chilcott drove carelessly near the 300m by allowing her mare to contact the sulky wheel of IDEAL CRUNCH resulting in the tyre puncturing. Ms Chilcott indicated that she would be defending the charge with the matter adjourned sine die.

Starter D Blakemore advised that he had not been satisfied that a fair start would have been effected so elected to abort the score up. ENZO - commenced to improve wide from the 500m but was then forced four wide by an inside runner. Paced roughly rounding the final turn. When questioned regarding the tactics he adopted in the middle stages Driver Z Butcher advised that he had initially commenced to follow DIXIELAND DELIGHT when that runner improved forward three wide near the 1150m but that his gelding had paced roughly so he elected to steady back down into the running line before then attempting to improve racing down the back the last time. Stewards noted Mr Butcher's comments.
