After hearing from Mr Butcher and viewing the films Stewards were satisfied FORGIVENESS (B Butt) had commenced his shift outwards prior to WALKINONSUNSHINE reaching his sulky wheel and that Mr Butcher had elected to take his runner forward and had raced wide thereafter. Weakened passing the 1000m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a high heart rate and slow recovery. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.

Mr Herlihy stated that he felt that he had commenced his outward shift prior to BRIENNE reaching the parked position and after viewing the replays Stewards took the matter no further on this occasion. Lay out throughout the run home despite the efforts of Mr Herlihy.

When questioned regarding his decision not to shift out from a position three back on the markers near the 1300m prior to being covered by KEEP IT KLASSY Driver T Herlihy stated that he elected not to shift out at this stage as his runner was not handling the bends as he would have liked and felt that the gelding would have been left without cover for the remainder as the lead, which was being held by MAZEPPA, would not have been available.

Raced over further track markers passing the 100m after becoming awkwardly placed to the sulky of KAIPAKI JACK which had locked sulky stays with AMERICAN MUSCLE. Stewards noted the circumstances and took the matter no further.

After hearing the relative evidence and viewing the replays the Adjudicative Committee found the charge proved and suspended Ms Ranger's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing tonight up to and including 4 March 2025 (2 days).
