BOSS KENNY - shifted outwards near the 1100m forcing an outside runner wider on the track. Hampered near the 400m and raced over a number of track markers. Authorisation of 3rd placing was withheld until firstly Stewards were satisfied that the gelding had raced over track markers due to interference and secondly that this runner had not gained an advantage. Junior Driver Z Meredith, who declined the assistance of a senior driver, admitted a breach of the Push Out Rule in relation to the incident near the 1100m and was issued a fine of $200.

It was established Driver T Cameron (AMERICAN MUSCLE) had commenced his outwards movement prior to BOSS KENNY reaching his sulky wheel with no further action deemed necessary. KYVALLEY HOTSPUR - back from position over the latter stages of the score up. When questioned Driver T Mitchell stated that the entire had felt uneven in its gait in the middle stages of the score up so he had been reluctant to place this runner under pressure and had then been unable to fill its position when the mobile accelerated prior to dispatch. A warning was placed on the horse's barrier manners.

KYVALLEY HOTSPUR - trotted roughly rounding the final bend losing ground. Continued to trot roughly in the run home. Driver A Butt admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion on one occasion in the run home. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Butt's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on 19 October up to and including 21 October 2024 (2 days). A post-race veterinary examination revealed a high heart rate and slow recovery. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
